Bab 32: A Version Of The Truth

Maya barely managed to hold back her laughter. Vincent straight up hung up on someone he obviously knew in a professional capacity to avoid talking about his "love life." That was so like him but she still hadn't expected it.

She wasn't about to go back to their previous conversation without getting some answers. She hadn't even known he had a conference next week. He was notorious for not leaving the house but she supposed despite his personality that he was an expert in his field so they would still want him to speak at things like that.

"What's this about a conference? Who was that?" she asked.

Vincent didn't seem happy about answering. "That was an unfortunate acquaintance of mine. He's the event coordinator for an annual technology conference I'm usually asked to speak at. He attends other similar conferences to get ideas on how to run his better so I tend to run into him a few times a year.
