''RAAA!'' Tom threw the VR Helmet away and screamed in anger. Blood vessels protruded around his arm and neck.
''Tom! Quiet down!'' A female voice came from downstairs.
''Sorry, mom...'' Tom whispered quietly, but his fist was clenched into a tight fist.
''Wraith...'' He murmured the name with a hateful tone. He quickly grabbed his phone and dialed Luke's number.
*Ring*
The phone rang for a few moments until the call connected.
''Luke! What happened?'' Tom asked in a hurry.
Luke sighed, ''I got killed by player Wraith... What about you?''
Tom gritted his teeth, ''Same...''
''Heard about Jess?'' Luke asked.
''No... I will call her!'' Tom disconnected the phone call and dialed Jess' number.
*Ring*
The phone rang for a few seconds until connecting.
''Jess! What happened?!''
Jess sighed on the other side of the phone, ''Player Wraith killed me... And he also killed the Bear.''
''YOU ARE USELESS— YOU SHOULD HAVE KILLED HIM!'' Tom roared out of anger. He never meant the words he spoke. However, his rage clouded his mind.
''Excuse me?! I am a healer!'' Jess shouted with disbelief and anger. She couldn't believe that her childhood friend would call her useless in such a manner.
It made her both saddened and angry at her so-called friend.
Tom was brought out of his anger, ''I-I didn't mean i...'' Before he could finish his sentence, Jess hung up.
With disbelief, he lowered his arm, still holding his phone. At first, his lips trembled, and his hand shook.
''THIS IS ALL WRAITH'S FAULT!'' Tom screamed and threw his phone to a nearby wall.
*CRACK*
His phone's screen cracked.
*Thud*
With a loud thud, the phone fell down on the ground.
''TOM! QUIET DOWN!''
''Sorry, mom...'' Tom sat down on the bed with a defeated expression. His mother's scream again brought him out of his anger-filled state. However, the lingering hate was still looming.
''I will get my revenge...'' Tom bit his lip and made a promise. No matter what, he was going to have his revenge.
''He seems to be a player killer and kill stealer... There must be more victims.'' Tom went to his PC and opened the White Online forums.
He started typing on the keyboard. Soon after, an interesting article popped up in White Online's forum.
A forum that would change the lives of many.
[Wraith, I will get my revenge!]

*Creak*
A young man opened the front door.
He had short red hair, an average face, and a slightly dirty outfit. His body was average as well, somewhat overweight around his waist.
''Finally, it's here!'' Salamander exclaimed. Outside the house, he saw a box with a VR Helmet picture on the side of the box.
He grabbed the box from the side and carried it back inside.
Yesterday, he went to purchase a new VR Helmet. However, it was sold out. It wasn't a surprise but was still a great disappointment.
He ordered a new one and was lucky enough to receive it today.
Salamander took out a beautiful white-colored VR Helmet. Golden texts painted the side, [Gold]
He bought another Gold Ranked Helmet because people kept saying that every rank has a huge difference.
If a person once used Gold Ranked Helmet and went back to Silver Ranked. The difference would be like day and night.
It would feel uncomfortable, even to such lengths that not many could play with lower Ranked Helmet.
The Gold Ranked Helmet in his hands cost 1499$. The next rank would have cost 2999$, and it was exceedingly above Salamander's budget.
He understood that he could have bought Platinum Ranked Helmet, but he could never have guessed that his Gold Ranked Helmet, which was already incredibly valuable, would become useless on the first day!
At first, he didn't want to spend that much money on Platinum Ranked Helmet, and he thought the difference between the two wouldn't be big.
However, now there was slight regret blooming inside him. However, there was still fear that he would have died and lost the Platinum VR Helmet.
It wasn't worth the risk.
Salamander entered his room and lowered the VR Helmet gently down on his bed.
He lived in a house that only had a living room, kitchen, and two rooms.
It was a one-floor apartment and he was living alone. He was a college student with high hopes of becoming wealthy.
However, that all changed once White Online arrived. That game could be his way to stardom and wealth.
After getting killed by Wraith, he thought that his dream was also killed. The crumbling dream was about to fade away. However, he slapped himself and swore to get his revenge.
His dream had a good start. He got fools as his party members, who believed every word he said. He always planned to kill them and get their hard-earned items.
''Wraith...'' Only by saying his name, his words oozed with venom.
''I need to find a way to level up quick...'' Salamander murmured and opened his old laptop.
All his money went to his food and rent, and now he spent 3000$ on the VR Helmets.
To survive the upcoming mouth, he would need to starve for several days. However, he didn't care.
He only cared about White Online!
Salamander opened the forums, trying to find leveling up tips from pro players.
He didn't find anything, and when he was about to close the forum out of frustration, he saw a fascinating article from the corner of his eyes.
[Wraith, I will get my revenge!]
''Hmm... Could it be?!'' Salamander double-clicked on the article and started reading.
The article mentioned Swornword Village and a player called Wraith.
''TomValeo...'' Salamander murmured after seeing the name of the person who wrote the article.
He pressed TomValeo's profile picture and started writing a personal message to him.
[Salamander: I was killed by Wraith as well, and I am sure there are more, let's hunt him down!]

In a luxurious room.
A young man with golden hair and bright blue eyes was seated in front of the PC. His face was handsome, with sharp eyebrows and a semi-athletic figure. His ingame name was KnightOfHoliness.
Currently, he was not having a good day. His thoughts were filled with anger and frustration.
Yesterday he was killed by Wraith. Also, the same player managed to run away from his friend, KnightOfCharming.
He and KnightOfProtection told him to keep chasing and kill him before he reached Level 6!
But he couldn't find him, making both of them very displeased and angry at his incompetence.
KnightOfHoliness was still waiting for his VR Helmet to arrive, but he had a fear of getting left behind by other players.
Soon, the village would be filled with high-leveled players, making it very difficult for him to earn any XP.
Luckily KnightOfCharming reached Level 6 and could protect them once they returned.
But there was still the lingering threat of Wraith. He could still be there and hunt them down.
Since he had nothing to do, he opened the Internet Browser and went to White Online's forums.
He began to gather any information that could prove helpful in the future. Mainly how to level up safely, but he couldn't find anything useful.
Everyone was keeping their methods secret.
Out of nowhere, he noticed an interesting article.
[Wraith, I will get my revenge!]
The article was written by a player called TomValeo.
KnightOfHoliness, out of curiosity, started reading the article and noticed that TomValeo was talking about the same person who killed him!
However, TomValeo, the one who wrote the article, didn't seem to know the face of Wraith.
''Hah…'' KnightOfHoliness grinned. He knew precisely how Wraith looked like and was sure that he won't forget it any time soon.
His fingers danced on the keyboard as he wrote a message.
[KnightOfHoliness: Wraith killed me as well! And it seems that you don't know how he looks, but I do! I will never forget his face, and I have two other friends who want to get revenge as well. I can help you to get your revenge, but you also need to help to get mine]
After pressing send, the world's fate suddenly took a sharp turn in an unknown direction. Without Isaac knowing, he was now the enemy of three figures, who would prove to be very troublesome in the future.
In the future, they would be known as the Three Dragons of Wraithless. A guild whose primary purpose was to kill Wraith.
Their infamous tales would be spread far and wide.
However, that all would be in future.
Bab 18: Blindspot.
[You Have Entered The Sleeping Place of Adult Wolf!]
A notification popped up in front of Isaac.
He grabbed his Flintlock into a tighter hold. He leaned to the side, trying to take a peek toward a small open space.
He saw a 5-meter wolf with black fur sleeping on the ground. The wolf's sharp furred tail swayed side to side.
Isaac noticed the floating texts right on top of the wolf's head.
[Adult Wolf]
[Level 9]
[HP: 90/90]
''90... My Flintlock can probably do 60 damage... Not sure is it fixed damage or more random and depends where you hit.''
''I could try to level up and try to beat the Adult Wolf later...'' Isaac murmured.
''I still have six days left to finish the Quest.''
Isaac wasn't feeling very confident about killing the Adult Wolf, but he had a hunch that Kulos might offer the Quest for someone else.
Why else was there such a long time limit?
Higher-level Played could do the quest in an hour, but the time limit was one week for some reason.
Isaac felt like it was suspicious. He wasn't sure what Kulos might be planning and didn't really care.
*Sigh*
Isaac sighed, ''Let's do this...''
He left his hiding spot and sneakily walked toward the Adult Wolf.
Adult Wolf was innocently lying on the ground. His eyes tightly shut.
Soon, Isaac was standing right in front of the sleeping Adult Wolf.
He pointed his Flintlock toward the Adult Wolf's head. The barrel barely touched the fur.
He was about to pull the trigger. However, another idea suddenly popped into his mind.
Isaac shifted the Flintlock Pistol's aim and soon aimed straight toward the sleeping Adult Wolf's closed eyelid!
'I hope this works...'
*BANG*
Isaac squeezed the trigger, and the bullet perfectly penetrated the Adult Wolf's eye.
''RAAAAAWR!'' The Adult Wolf woke up with a cry of agony.

[Adult Wolf Received 50% Blinding Damage!]
''I-It worked!'' Isaac cheered. However, his cheerful face disappeared as soon as it appeared. The Adult Wolf turned his only remaining eye toward Isaac and glared murderously.
''Ah... Right... He had one more eye.'' Isaac turned around and started running away.
''RAAAAAAAAAAWR!'' The Adult Wolf instantly spurted into motion and used his claw to slash toward Isaac.
''UGH!'' Isaac felt something sharp slashing through his flesh but didn't feel any pain that should have come.

[HP: 40/65]
Isaac sidestepped to the left and dodged Wolf's lengthy body.
He quickly glanced at the reloading time.
[24...]
[23...]
''RAAAAWRR!'' The Adult Wolf angrily turned his head and again attacked with his claws.
Isaac tried to dodge, but Adult Wolf's agility was much higher and did a slashing wound on his waist.
Isaac was sent flying while a message popped up in front of him.
[You Lost 38 HP!]
[HP: 2/65]
Isaac crashed to the ground and lost another 1 HP because of that.
[HP: 1/65]
Isaac gritted his teeth, took his slingshot, put a couple of rocks on the elastic band, and started firing.

The Adult Wolf tanked all the rocks and appeared in front of Isaac.

The Adult Wolf raised its paw and did a downward slash with creepily long claws.
Isaac made a last attempt to survive and leaped to the right. Hoping that the claws wouldn't be able to reach him.
*SWISH*
The claw missed his body barely. The tip of the claw barely managed to scratch through his clothing.
Isaac was again about to dodge. However, he noticed the Adult Wolf looking with confusion around him.
'I am in his blindspot...' Isaac thought and saw the missing eye in the skull of the Adult Wolf.
The Adult Wolf turned toward Isaac, using his snout to smell his opponent. However, another look of confusion appeared on his face.
Isaac had already leaped to the left, trying to stay in Wolf's blindspot!
When the Adult Wolf turned his head toward him, Isaac was already back in the blindspot. To the onlookers, it would look like Isaac was making fun of the semi-blind wolf.
''Finally…'' Isaac murmured and grinned once the long-awaited notifications appeared.
[0...]
[Reloading Is Ready!]
Isaac opened the Flintlock Pistol's chamber, stuffed the bullet inside, took aim, and pulled the trigger.
*BANG*
The bullet perfectly pierced the Adult Wolf's skull, and soon, the large body disappeared into light particles.
[You Killed Adult Wolf!]
[150 XP Earned!]
[Quest Completed!]
[Rewards: 100 White Coins + Relationship with Kulos improved by 10!]
Isaac sighed out of relief.
'Too risky...'' Isaac looked around the surroundings warily.
He had only 1 HP.
Even a Level 1 player could kill him, but gladly no one seemed to be around.
Isaac quickly checked the items Adult Wolf dropped.

''Nice!'' Isaac was satisfied, but he still needed to wait for his orange nametag to disappear and his HP to return.
He climbed to a nearby tree and started waiting.
Meanwhile, he took a glance at his stats.

10 minutes later.
The long-awaited message came.
[You have been unharmed for 10 minutes!]
[Your wounds have been healed!]

Isaac left the tree and started walking out of the forest's depths.
Every now and then, he heard fighting sounds and roars of wild animals.
But, he ignored it all and managed to exit the forest 10 minutes later.
He ran straight toward the village—no more detours.
His orange nametag hadn't completely disappeared— there was still a hue of orange around the edges.
But he thought that it wouldn't matter much.
And he was right.
The Guards only looked at him and decided to keep an eye on him.
Shortly afterward, Isaac entered the Merchant Store and saw Kulos sitting on his chair.
''Young fella, you managed to do it,'' Kulos said with a slightly impressed face.
Isaac nodded and put the Adult Meat and Adult Fang on the desk.
''You managed to get the Fang?!'' Kulos was shocked.
He pondered for a few minutes and concluded, ''Since you managed to complete the Quest so quick... I will give 400 White Coins for these.''
Isaac was surprised but happy nonetheless.
Kulos gave him 400 White Coins, but Isaac still had few items.
He put three leather armors, a green-colored cane, 2 Iron swords, and the Omega Wild Bear's meat on the desk.
Kulos looked at the items and pondered for longer.
''I will give 1500 White Coins for all this,'' Kulos soon offered his price.
Isaac was shocked, he was aware that he would get a lot, but this was more than expected.
'Is this because the relationship was improved?' Isaac didn't know, but he was happy with the money he had received.
Kulos gave him the 1500 White Coins.
Isaac earned a total of 2000 White Coins from that trip alone.
First, the 100 White Coins after completing the Quest.
Then 400 for the Adult Wolf's items, and 1500 for the things he got after killing Tom and the rest.
''Interface...'' Isaac murmured.
