Chapter 13: Hinata's special day.
"Are you certain you don't want to become the fifth Raikage?"
After their spar the fourth Raikage kept bringing up this same topic again and again.
In most villages, the leaders try to groom individuals that they think are more suitable as village leaders or in case of unforeseen circumstances
For example, The fifth Mizukage Terumi Mei and A both gave up their positions to Changjuro and Darui while they were still alive, this is because they thought their successors would be able to do a better job than them.
Hachiro had proven to not only have more contributed more to the village but to also have the strength to be on equal footing with the current Raikage despite being younger.
Hachiro had also revealed his ability to manage and command the shinobi on the battlefield, it was only natural to elect the best possible candidate for the betterment of the Village.
The only other candidate that had a chance was the fourth's son, Darui, and even then he was outclassed in nearly everything.
"Cousin, I'm sure there are still things you want to do for the cloud, like that chakra canon or conquering the land the leaf currently sits on. Besides I've already told you I have no interest in the work you have to do as Raikage."
He waved his hand in refusal.
He felt like if he had to repeat himself a few more times he would go insane.
"Oh, Daddy."
A young voice suddenly approached them from the right of them.
He turned to look at the entrance of the gorge.
A cute doll-like baby girl came waddling towards him with her pair of short legs.
Unlike the darker skin that most Kumogakure residents possessed the little girl was a light peach.
However, what made her stand out in this village was her pure lavender eyes, that not one other resident had.
Just when the girl was trotting over due to the sudden change in uneven ground she tripped and fell.
"Aaahhh!!"
The child exclaimed as she was close to hitting the ground
Zoom!
In the eyes of others a literal thunder bolt darted past.
Tense, Hachiro firmly embraced the young child before finally relaxing his body.
"Thank you Dusan!"
The girl snuggled into his neck with excitement, burying her face and trying to get comfortable.
"Hinata, be more careful in the future."
He held Hinata with his right hand, and rubbed his left on his forehead trying to erase his headache.
"Why?"
Hinata tilted her head in confusion.
"Because you almost hurt yourself…"
He could feel the headache growing even more.
"So, have you forgotten what day it is?"
Behind her Samui sudden appeared, with her hand on her hips looking directly in Hachiro's eyes.
"Huh? It doesn't seem like a holiday or festival is going on today..."
His expression did nothing to hide his bewilderment.
Whimper.
"Wah~ Waah~ Waaaaahhh~"
After hearing Hinata's cries he suddenly remembered something very important that was coming up soon.
"I'm just joking, how could I forget. Today is Hinata's 3rd birthday!
Hachiro's puzzled expression switched as if he was playing a bad joke all along as he gave a cheerful smile to Hinata.
"Oh Dusan is the best!"
Hinata's expression shifted from grief to joy in an instant before hugging his neck even tighter.
"My little girl, Hinata, is becoming a big 3 year old today! It's a day for celebration."
Hachiro smiled.
Unlike in the original Hinata seemed to be a lot more outgoing and happy.
He thought that it was because she didn't have to worry about the expectations her clan had for her unlike in the original.
It could also be because she was around, more honest and forthcoming people in the cloud.
He just had to hope she didn't end up having a similar personality to her Road to Ninja counterpart.
In the movie, Naruto Shippuden: Road to Ninja that was released 2012 Hinata had shown up as a minor villain.
She became sharp-tongued, Domineering and more assertive.
The difference between the two was vast and just Imagining Hinata as an aggressive and self-confident Kunoichi sent chills down his spine.
Running behind her all the time cleaning up her messes would be the thing of nightmares.
On December 27, 51 years since the founding of Konoha, Hinata became 3 year old.
With her pure byakugan, the villagers of Kumo knew at a glance that she was not originally from the land of Lightning.
This caused some moody shinobi to try and discriminate against her and lets say it didn't end well for them... a few beatings from Samui, who didn't care about age or status. The villagers learnt how scary a pissed off kunoichi was.
After word spread about how, Hinata, was a part of a shinobi clan, the villagers started treating her better before their children were conquered by Hinata's cuteness.
They never stood a chance in the first place.
In some ways, she was treated better than the Raikage's son Darui.

In the middle of the table was a chocolate cake with three candles stabbed into it.
The family of three that surrounded the table were singing happy birthday to the sweet little girl.
Hinata fixed her birthday hat on her small head before looking at the cake in the center of the table with bright eyes.
"Okay, Hinata, make a wish."
Samui, the ice queen, displayed a gentle and kind smile in front of her daughter, Hinata.
Hachiro was feeling slightly mesmerized.
"I hope to be a great ninja like daddy, and a gentle woman like mommy."
Hinata put her hands together, closed her eyes and muttered to herself.
When Hachiro heard the word 'gentle' being associated with Samui, he felt like Hinata was going to have a very cruel awakening one of these years.
The only time she's remotely gentle is in bed... Even then she gets all worked up when I ask her to cosplay a little...
Alright, I guess I should be a little nicer.
"By the way, big bro."
Atsui seemed to have remembered something as he moved close to Hachiro's side and whispered,
"Did you learn how to control chakra at the age of three?"
"Ah…It's mandatory for most clans in Kumo."
He nodded.
The age of three held a lot of importance for children in this world, especially for the children in Ninja clans.
Once you became three years of age, you would first start training to awaken and control your chakra.
From there you could start practising ninjutsu to became a ninja.
He was not an exception.
Looking at Hinata who was nibbling away at the cake, Hachiro suddenly thought of a question.
