Bab 16: Chapter 19: Abomination
After the whole thing that happened in the ice rink with Derek and Astrid Scott went to the animal clinic since he had a shift.
"Why aren't you healing?" he said as he looked at the wound on his stomach.
"Because it's from an alpha" Dr deaton said startling Scott before he looks to his left and sees the dead hunter's body on the table, "I think it's time we had that conversation"
"They are coming back so we don't have that much time to talk," Deaton tells him as he prepares some rubbing alcohol and bandages.
"What is that," Scott asks.
"Rubbing alcohol, you don't want it to get infected do you," Deaton asked making Scott shake his head no. "it'll heal the same just not as quickly because of Derek"
"ok, how do you know all of this, actually how do you know anything?" Scott asked confused
"it's a longer story what I can tell you is that I know about your kind, your kind I can help, but this is something different," Deaton tells him before saying the last part while pointing at the dead body on the table.
"Do you know what did it?" Scott asks
"no, but the Argent's will and this is the crucial part they'll have some kind of record or book it'll have descriptions, histories, notations of all the things they've discovered," Deaton says.
"All the things? how many different things are there" Scott asks surprised,(AN: seriously Scott you were bitten by a werewolf and Astrid is a hybrid of werewolf and vampire and you thought they were the only supernatural creatures that exist)
Before Deaton can answer him they hear a car pull up so Deaton makes Scott hide. Chris and a random guy enter.
"I'm starting to think I need to buy a more prominent closed sign," Deaton says as he examines the body before Gerard enters.
"Hello Allan it's been a while, last I heard you had retired," Gerard says.
"Last I heard you followed a code of conduct" Deaton retorted.
"if you haven't noticed this body is one of ours," Chris says
"I did, I also noticed the gun powder residue on his fingertips so don't assume I'd be swayed by your philosophy just because I'll answer a few questions," Deaton tells him
"he was only 24," Chris says
"killers come in all ages" Deaton replied
"All age, sizes, shapes it's the last one that concerns us," Gerard says
"how about you tell us what you found," Chris asks
"see this cut," deaton says as he turns the head to the side to a cut on the back of the neck, "precise almost surgical but this isn't the wound that killed him this had a more interesting purpose"
"relating to the spine," Gerard asks
"That's right, whatever made this cut is leased with a paralytic toxin potent enough to disable all motor functions," Deaton tells them before continuing as pointed to the deep wounds on the chest "These are the cause of death, notice the pattern on each side"
"five for each finger," Chris says but Gerard says claw.
"As you can see it dug in, slashed upward eviscerating the lungs and slicing through the bones of the ribcage with ease," Deaton tells them
"Have you seen anything like this before?" Chris asked
"No," Deaton says
"Any idea at all of what killed him," Chris asks again
"No, but I can tell you it's fast, remarkably strong and has the capacity to render its victims essentially helpless within seconds," Deaton says
"if you're saying we should be cautious we get it," Chris says
"I'm saying you should be afraid, be very afraid. Because, in the natural world, predators with paralytic toxins use them to catch and eat their prey. This prey wasn't eaten. That means whatever killed him only wanted to kill him. In fact, killing may be its only purpose." Deaton tells them.

The next night Stiles is in a mechanic's garage, getting his Jeep fixed after Erica messed with it when he went looking for Boyd at his house.
All Stiles needed was a starter but the mechanic was fixing the whole exhaust system of the car. They argue a bit and Stiles gives up in the end. He goes to wait outside and finds some gross wet substance on the door handle that gets on his hand.
He wipes it off on his shirt and glares at a picture of the mechanic, who seems to be a former Beacon Hills lacrosse player. He tries to text but his hands won't work. He looks up and sees the lizard monster in the garage and tries to call out but he can barely talk. The lizard monster swipes the mechanic on the back of the neck before he falls to the ground paralysed from the neck down.
Stiles also falls to the ground and tries to reach his phone to dial 911, the lizard monster cuts the pipe of the hydraulic lowering the truck down on top of the mechanic killing him. The lizard monster screeches at Stiles's face right before the 911 operator answers.

At the Argent's Allison just exited the house and entered her car, before she car start it she hears someone walking towards her and sees it's Gerard so she gets out.
"You going somewhere?" he asks her
"Yes," Allison says as she crosses her hands she didn't like him the first time she saw him and she disliked him, even more, when he started a pointless war over Kate's death.
"To Your girlfriend I assume," he asked
"What do you want," Allison asked getting impatient.
"I just want to talk for a minute," Gerard says as he reaches into his pocket to take out his pills containers, but drops an old leather-bound book. Allison rolls her eyes and picks it up for him.
"Thanks, I don't wanna drop that I'd be lost without it. When I was your age I didn't even take vitamins, now am choking down a cocktail of pills 3 times a day," He says as he swallows some pills while Allison just stared at him in the eyes wanting him to get to the point. "But I do what my doctor tells me because I trust him, trust is a commodity our family holds very high you know."
'I doubt you trust anyone but yourself 'Allison thought.
"And my daughter you're aunt Kate died doing what she thought was right, her intentions may have been a bit misguided," he said but Allison interrupted him.
"You call burning a house full of innocent people a bit misguided, oh my God, what I'm I talking about I'm talking to a person who cuts people in half with a broad sword," Allison says surprising him, " Yeah, I know about your declaration of war Gerard and if you came here to tell me about how I should trust you more than my friends then I'm gonna tell you I trust them more than I do you, you know why? Because trust is earned and they earned it but you all you did was put our family in danger by starting a war and revoking the code for Kate who ironically died because she broke the code, I guess like father like daughter" Allison said before she entered her car and drive off.
"That didn't go as planned she's more headstrong than I thought," Gerard said as he went back to the house. "This complicates things since I wanted to turn her against her girlfriend but it seems I'm gonna have to focus on Scott"

Allison finally reached the abandoned subway station and enters. she finds Astrid sitting on a crate so she walks over and sits on her lap before looking at what Derek and the others are doing.
"umm, babe what are they doing," Allison asked confused as she sees Isaac jumping over stuff before he's dropped on his a** by Derek.
"I have no idea I'm just as confused as you are," Astrid said as she saw Erica try attacking by jumping from above only for the same thing as Isaac to happen to her while Boyd is watching from the stairs.
"Does anyone want to try not being completely predictable?" Derek asked
"Derek I love you I really do brother but what are you doing," Astrid asked him
"what I'm training them," Derek said.
"oh really, because from our perspective it looked like your teaching them how to parkour instead of training them," Allison said while Astrid nodded in agreement.
"oh please like you know how to fight, " Isaac said mockingly making Derek's eyes widen while Astrid raised an eyebrow.
"Why don't you show them what you got," Astrid said with a smile, "just try not to kill them"
"No promises," Allison said before standing up and taking out two Chinese ring daggers.
Isaac alone walked forward.
"uh, no Erica, join Isaac, Boyd you too," Astrid said surprising them.
"umm, not to be rude but 3 werewolves against 1 human isn't a fair fight," Boyd said
"we'll see about that" Astrid told him not concerned at all.
"Don't underestimate her" Derek said.
The first to attack was Isaac who went for a right punch but Allison blocked it and slashed his chest. Erica tried to attack her from behind with her claws but Allison already sensed her as she twisted Isaac's hand, turn around with him and used him as a shield surprising Erica. Allison used erica's momentary surprise to get behind her and stab her in the back before knocking her out with a strike to the neck.
Boyd ran towards her in an effort to tackle her but Allison back kicked him in the face sending him to hit Isaac who was getting up.
"how long did that take," Astrid asked Derek who was timing the fight if you can call it that.
"35 seconds," Derek said," she's improved, it took her 2 minutes the last time we fought"
"I know, by the way, the thing that killed Isaac's father killed someone else last night," Astrid said.
"Yeah, I heard," Derek said with a sigh.
"Then you need to train these three ASAP, they need to be able to use all senses and strength to their potential so no more doing what you were doing before," Astrid told him seriously.
"Alright," Derek replied.

Lydia's mother goes to wake her up for an appointment with the school counsellor and finds Lydia's sheets soaked with blood. Apparently, Lydia punched a mirror at some point and just went to sleep bleeding everywhere.

Outside the counsellor's office, a dude tries talking to Lydia about why she's here.
"I have an acute phobia of people prying into my personal life. You?" Lydia says before asking.
"Compulsively drawn to cute but narcissistic girls," he replied
"you ready Lydia," the guidance counsellor asks as she opens the door. Lydia enters and sits on the chair facing the counsellor.
"you aren't even french are you," Lydia asks
"French Canadian" the counsellor answers.
"which means your Canadian who speaks French," Lydia says, "and seeing as I'm placing my mental health in your hands how about you tell me what as a French teacher qualifies you to be a guidance counsellor"
"I have a Master's in Behavioural Psychology and have done over 300 hours of fieldwork." the counsellor answers.
Lydia agrees to speak more but is still cagey. The guidance counsellor advises her to be cautious about her friends, even though she trusts them implicitly.
"Why? Because sometimes the ones closest to you can be the ones holding you back the most?" Lydia asks
"Indeed. Did you read that somewhere?" the counsellor asks
"I don't know. Maybe I heard it." Lydia says surprised she knew that.
"Well, sounds like whoever said it left an impression." the counsellor says.

Scott and Stiles are outside talking to Allison and Astrid about the bestiary.
"Bestiary?" Allison asks.
"Yeah, it's probably like a book, old, warn-" Stiles says describing it
"like bound in leather?" Allison says as the realisation hits her.
"yes have you seen it?" stiles asked
"Yeah, I've seen Gerard with a book like that" Allison says.
"Where does he keep it?" Scott asked
"Probably in his office," Allison says not sure.
"I don't think he would keep something that valuable in his office but it wouldn't hurt to look," Astrid tells them.
"Can you get the book?" Stiles asks
"Not without his keys," Allison says before Scott and Stiles left, "So are you gonna be at the game tonight?"
"Yes, but I'm gonna miss the beginning since I'm going for a run," Astrid says.

Before the lacrosse game, Danny and Matt tell Jackson that they've found an edit point in the video. That means that there's two hours of footage missing from that night, during which anything could have happened.
The lacrosse game starts and Coach questions the legality and age of the veritable giant on the opposing team.
"McCall What the hell are you waiting for this is the semi-finals bring that Roid-head to the ground," Jackson tells Scott.
"Me, you're the one who said I was a cheater," Scott says.
"And that freak of nature being on the field is fair? Do something" Jackson says
"I can't not while Allison's Grandfather's here," Scott says nodding towards Gerard who is sitting next to Allison. On the stands, Allison claims she's cold and Gerard, being a gentleman, gives her his coat. She sneaks the keys out of the pocket and hands them to Stiles.
Someone is carted off the lacrosse field in agony. Matt talks to Melissa about his photography and it seems he's still taking creepy photos of Allison. Someone takes the camera out of his hand he looks at who it is and sees Astrid going through his gallery.
"So you're stalking my girlfriend huh," Astrid asks calmly but you could feel the amount of rage rolling off of her. Her wolf was practically clawing to get out and tear Matt to pieces but she kept it under control.
Matt couldn't answer because he was paralysed with fear so Astrid nods before dropping the camera and stepping on it hard breaking it into pieces, she then compelled him to delete and destroy any photos he has of Allison before forgetting he ever talked to her.
That giant on the lacrosse field is knocking out players all over the place and, because Stiles has disappeared, Coach enlists the biggest guy he can see to sub in.
"you, you do you play lacrosse?" Coach asks pointing at Boyd. Boyd and Erica look over to Astrid who was standing next to the stands and she nods giving her permission and Boyd stands up taking off his jacket showing off his impressive build making Coach excited.
"ohoho, we get ourselves a player" Coach shouts excitedly.

On his way to Gerard's office, Stiles sees Lydia crying in her car and immediately goes to talk to her. Lydia winds up the window and tells him to go away and that she doesn't need anyone seeing her cry. Stiles thinks she looks beautiful when she cries. Lydia winds down the window.
"You're gonna think I'm crazy," Lydia says
"Lydia, if you trust me on anything, you can trust me on this: there is nothing that you can say to me that'll make you sound crazy. Literally nothing." Stiles tells her. A cheer goes up from the lacrosse field and Stiles asks Lydia to hang on for five minutes before he leaves giving away any progress he'd made with her.
Stiles searches Gerard's office for the bestiary and texts Allison to say that it's not there. Erica shows up to scare the crap out of Stiles again.
she escorts Stiles to a meeting with Derek near the swimming pool. Derek wants to know what Stiles saw at the mechanic's garage. Stiles tries to skirt around the issue and Derek crushes a basketball to show Stiles what'll happen if he keeps lying.

Back at the lacrosse field, Scott steals a ball from Boyd To stop him from wolfing out everywhere and he scores a goal. Astrid tells Boyd to back up Scott and he tackles a player who was going to tackle Scott.

Stiles tries to describe the lizard monster as quickly as possible so he can get back to Lydia. As he's talking, the lizard monster appears.
It knocks Erica out and paralyses Derek. Stiles starts dragging Derek away, fumbling with his phone as he tries to call Scott. Stiles drops his phone and Derek at the same time. Derek lands in the pool and Stiles dives in after him to stop him from drowning.
"Could you get me out of here before I drown?" Derek says
"You're worried about drowning? Did you notice the thing out there with multiple rows of razor-sharp teeth?" Stiles tells him
"Did you notice I'm paralysed from the neck down in eight feet of water?" Derek replies
Stiles tries to tow him to the side but the lizard monster appears again and starts circling the pool it touches the water before it jumps away like it was burned.
"Wait, did you see that I don't think it can swim," Stiles says but sees Derek with his eyes closed, "what are you doing?"
"concentrating," Derek says
"on what," stiles asks.
"On trying to contact Astrid," Derek says surprising Stiles since he didn't know they could talk with their minds.
'Derek what is it' Astrid asks when they connected.
'I and Stiles need help we are in the school swimming pool ' Derek says
'Alright I'll be there in a minute' Astrid says before transforming and heading back to the school. When she gets there she growls at the thing that screeches back at her before it lunges at her. Astrid dodges and snaps her jaws on its tail making it screech in pain before she throws it away.
The lizard monster jumps at her again but she dodges again and slashes it on its chest wounding it deeply. Seeing that this was a losing battle, it leaves and Astrid shifts back and helps Stiles take Derek out of the swimming pool. Astrid breaks Derek's hand to kick start his healing.
Stiles picks up his phone and sees a message from Allison saying that the bestiary is on a USB Drive on the keys so he calls Scott who was already heading towards the school.
Scott and Stiles load the USB and find that everything is written in a different language.
"It's called the Kanima," Astrid says as she walks over with Derek and Erica.
"You knew the whole time," Stiles says
"I had my suspicions but seeing it tonight confirmed it," She says
"so it's like us," Scott asks
"A shapeshifter yes but it's not right, it's like a-" Derek says
"like an abomination," Stiles says finishing for him and Derek nods in agreement before they part ways
