The ray of sunlight filtering from the widow woke Dahlia from sleep. However, she was reluctant to rise until a series of electronic notifications rang in her head.

"What?!" Dahlia screamed, jerking up only to find a shadow hovering over her bed and scrambling off in a hurry with another scream.
"Who the hell -! Oh. "
Dahlia said when recognition hit her. Standing beside her bed was the woman that she hit yesterday with a pestle and made her escape. Yep, it was Juliet. And she was alive. She wasn't a murderer, yahoo?
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," The woman named Juliet said and that made Dahlia cock a brow at her.
Why was she apologizing when she hit her with a pestle? Dahlia was sure she wouldn't do the same if she had been in her shoes.
"Okay," Dahlia laughed awkwardly, still keeping her distance from her. Her body was tense and she eyed the room for another weapon if things somehow go south. Yesterday, she almost killed her. What if the woman was here for revenge?
"I ran the bath for you, you should wash clean and come down for breakfast. I'm sure that you must be hungry," Juliet said.
Of course, she was very hungry but Dahlia was more concerned for her life than what she would put in her belly. What if Juliet poisoned the food as vengeance?
So she said jovially," You don't have to bother yourself, Mrs. Juliet, I'm not - "
Her stomach growled like a thunderclap. A very angry thunderclap and for a moment there, Dahlia had a feeling that the system had to do with it.
Thinking about it now, since this was a game, why would she need to satisfy her carnal needs? She hated this, Dahlia felt like banging her head against the wall. Her peaceful life was much better than this.
"Miss Dahlia?"
"Huh?" She glanced up.
"You were saying….?"
Dahlia realized she was in the middle of a speech before being betrayed by her stomach.
She grinned at Juliet sheepishly, "I was saying, I'm not going to miss breakfast for anything in the world," Dahlia lied through her teeth.
"That's good then," Juliet smiled the brightest Dahlia had ever seen since they met and that made her tense the more. She must be imagining how to kill her, Dahlia thought.
But to her surprise, Juliet clapped excitedly, "I'm going to prepare the best meal you have ever tasted in your entire life," she announced.
Yeah, as if they weren't residing in the middle of the evil forest where she could easily feed her poison.
"That would be good," Dahlia was dying inwardly while pretending to be fine.
"Then hurry!" Juliet said, gesturing in the direction of the door that Dahlia guessed led to the bathroom, "Be done quick," She said, leaving the room.
As soon as Juliet left, Dahlia released the breath she didn't know she had been holding in. That was the most uncomfortable conversation she had ever had. Then, remembering the ridiculous quest, Dahlia's attention shifted to the system.
'Hey, system! What kind of quest is that?! What do you mean to spend time with that vampire?! Are you signing my death certificate or what?!' Dahlia lamented. She was right, her system was a sadist; It loves seeing her in pain!
[Dear host, if you want to leave this place quickly, your best bet is sucking up to Tobias and proving you're not worth his attention]
'So you're sending me to the lion's den?'
[He's one of the main characters in this game and what better way to establish friendship than to draw close to him. Moreover, you need to relate with vampires because you'll be meeting more of them in the future, so use him as a test subject]
Wow, Dahlia had to give the system thumbs up for its quick thinking. If she were this smart, she would have been the president of her country by now. Just saying though, not that she would have pursued that kind of career in the first place. It was stressful, demanding, and risky. She didn't have many aspirations in life.
Unfortunately, even though the plan was laid out perfectly, spending time with Tobias wasn't as easy as it sounds. Dahlia wondered why this mission wasn't rated as "hard". How was she going to spend time with a bloodsucking creature she had no clue about?
Well, he'd be at breakfast and she would take advantage of the opportunity. Having a minute conversation with Tobias should count as spending time with him, right?
Whatever, Dahlia pushed the matter to the back of her mind. She should shower first and think of what to do next. Thankfully, with him at the table, Juliet wouldn't be able to poison her.
Getting into the bathroom, Dahlia saw what looked like a wooden tub-like structure filled to the brim with steaming water. It seems the bath was scented because there were traces of green leaves floating on it. Dahlia hoped to God that was a good thing.
'System, is there a way to detect poison in this'
[Dear host, poison detection skill is available, and if you wish to purchase -]
'Never mind' Dahlia cut her off knowing she would be required to purchase that as well. Sigh, she needed to pay off her loan debt as soon as possible. She was a broke ass b*tch.
Looking around, Dahlia discovered that her supposed outfit for the day hung on a kind of post on the wall. She was still not used to some things in this world. However, what caught her attention was the small iron steel basin and a linen cloth on top of a stool.
Dahlia bent down and touched the linen that was quite rough in texture. She then spotted a small container beside it and picked it up. It contained a paste that seems to have been made from ground sage mixed with salt crystals. On the wall was a small mirror that wasn't as clear as the one back on earth and that was when it hit her, was she supposed to brush with this?
