Bab 2: Chapter 2 - Some nice discoveries
Ahh, now that's what I call a good nap.
Waking up, I stretched my branches for a while and finally noticed something.
Entering the endless ocean of my soul, I saw the same bright orb.
But, due to some odd reason, this orb had grown to be twice the size it was before I went to sleep!
Twice!
What happened? What caused this? Am I some super overpowered being that can increase my own power without 𝑎𝑛𝑦 effort at all?
I would very much like that to be the case, but I don't think it is.
There must be some reason as to why this happened.
Now due to my increase power, my range of sight has increased by 6-fold!
Yes, from what I observed my sight increases at a rate 3 times faster than my power.
Don't know if it'll be like that forever, but I should capitalize on it for now.
Now with my increased sight, I 𝑝𝑢𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑑 some of my power away from my body and began observing my surroundings.
Hmm, there isn't much more to see for now. Only some kind of podium which my pot is sitting on, and the surrounding grass.
I'd say that my sight limit is around 1.2 meters in all directions, which now enabled me to see myself completely!
I'm a beautiful, majestic, godly bonsai with superb white trunk and branches and gorgeous red leaves.
𝐴ℎℎℎℎ… It's hard to be this beautiful.
Anyways, with my increase in power, besides my sight, I noticed some other changes.
Not on my self, but on the things around me, mainly the pot and soil at which I stand.
They are not normal. 𝐴𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙.
I can feel a glimpse of their divine power, but it's infinitesimal compared to their true might.
I'm honestly honored to stand in this pot and soil.
But in a while, they will be the ones that'll feel honored to have held the great me in my beginnings.
I'm sure of it.
Wait, now that I think of it, the reason why my power doubled when I slept is probably due to this pot and soil!
Ha!
I theorize that as long as I stand here, I can become invincible while doing nothing!
Congratulating myself on such a wonderful theory, I began to try to extended my senses over my current limit.
I have nothing else to do and do not feel the need to sleep for now, so why don't I try to increase my abilities?
For a while, the 1.2 meter range was my limit.
But then, 1.21 meters was my limit.
Then, 1.22.
1.3.
1.4.
After God knows how long and exhausting my entire power supply several times and taking a few power naps, I reached the mark of 7 meters and made some discoveries!
One of them was that the more I exhaust my power supply, the more it grows, but the more it grows, the harder it is to exhaust it, so in the later stages this won't be an effective way to increase my power.
The second one was just to prove my previous theory right. The pot and soil really do increase my power just by me being there!
Combined with my effort and the pot and soil, my power has been increasing at an alarming rate.
The third one was that I'm not alone in this place I'm in.
At 6 meters all around me are several plant life, including some herbs, plants, and fruit trees.
They appear to be planted in the same soil I'm in so I wonder if they also have incredible power.
Maybe they're also intelligent like me.
Having some friends around wouldn't hurt…
I'm a bit lonely with my thoughts if I'm being honest.
'Hey.'
Huh? What this voice I hear? Have I gone insane?
'No, idiot, behind you.'
Where? Who? What?
'Dear God Gan, THE APPLE TREE BEHIND YOU!'
STOP SHOUTING IN MY HEAD!
Guided by this external voice, I focused my senses on the tall apple tree a few meters behind me.
'There. Nice to meet you, I'm Apple Tree.'
Oh.... Hey…?
'Why are you so weird?'
This is the first interaction with someone besides myself, man.
Anyways, nice to meet you too, I'm… Future Bonsai Universal Overlord™.
'HAHAHA. I'll just call you Bonsai. You're the newest addition to God Gan's courtyard. How do you feel about the place?'
God Gan's courtyard? Who's God Gan?
'He's… I can't put in to words. Imagine what you want to be, right? The whole Future Bonsai Universal Overlord™ thing. Now imagine someone that 𝑖𝑠 that. A Universal Overlord. That's God Gan.'
Wow. And I'm planted in his courtyard?
'That's right. All of us are incredibly lucky to have been picked by him.'
Awesome! This is perfect! My destiny as a future Universal Overlord as basically set in stone then! I'll be God Gan's successor!
'You… Sigh. I'll leave you to your fantasies for now. When God Gan returns from his travels, you'll understand how ridiculous your ambitions are.'
I'll look forward to it. But hey, Apple Tree, answer me this. Is everyone here sentient like us?
'Yes. Everyone that is planted in this soil awakens their consciousness sometime. You actually were quite fast but I guess it was God Gan's music that accelerated the process for you. Most of us just spend our days sleeping though, as we don't have much to do here but attend to God Gan's wishes.'
Nice. So how long have you been here?
'I awakened around a year ago.'
And I?
'Only a few days.'
Oh. So that means you're quite powerful, huh? Being here for a whole year and all. Even if you're a bum you'd be powerful by being in this soil for a year.
'You could say that. Compared to you, I'm tens of times more powerful. But you are not just lucky, but incredibly lucky. Not only are you planted in God Gan's soil, but also in his pot. This increases your power faster than others around here. Soon you'll surpass some of them and even me.'
Oh yeah! That's how I like it!
Apple Tree, I have another question. How are we talking right now? I mean, I hear you in my head, but I'm just thinking and you're understanding it.
'I sent my consciousness to yours. It's called Telepathy. I can hear all your thoughts. I'm doing it like this because you don't know how to send your consciousness outside of your body yet, but when you learn to, we can create a mutual ground where we transmit only the thoughts we'd like the other to hear, and not all of them. You're only listening to the thoughts I want, but I can hear all of yours because I'm in your consciousness and not the other way around.'
You can hear 𝑎𝑙𝑙 my thoughts?
'Yes.'
Stop spying on me! Get out of my head!
'As you wish. I'll take a nap now, when I wake up I hope you have discovered how to use Telepathy. I'm afraid that if I hear all your thoughts for longer, I'll go insane. Goodbye.'
And so, I felt Apple Tree's consciousness fade away from my own. I'm alone with my thoughts once more.
I feel quite tired after this whole ordeal.
I guess I'll also take a nap.
