Bab 542: Queen's Proxy

Cole checked the rattling chains bound to the bottom of his car on one end and to a rather large pair of wrists on the other. They were brand new and still sparkling.

Even then, the king felt as though they were inadequate.

Another set of similar chains bound Kyle's feet. Another bound his torso… and now Cole was looking for another way to bind Kyle.

The beta alpha tugged at the chains a bit and groaned, "Was all of this necessary?"

"Yes… yes, it was. And if you don't mind me asking, what happened to you talking to Madeline?" Cole asked in an exasperated tone.

He'd finished arguing with Kyle and the latter had the bruises to prove it. Now, however, they had the time to talk. The convoy would be leaving soon… but Cole was still a little curious.
