The fact that it's a Chinese novel made me turn away even in the first few chapters. It sounds harsh, but fanfics made by Chinese set in western culture is like making an Italian pizza with dough, cheese and tomato sauce then pouring a bowl of fruit salad on top of it and calling it a fruit pizza. It just doesn't often work especially when all the characters gave Chinese names.
