"That's... Strong?"
As he accepted it he was holding what looked to be an old coin, a face representing death on both sides, one grinning and one laughing. As he looked at it he grinned, his hand squeezing around it. ''One day, I'm going to do the feeling lucky punk line... I've always wanted to." He chuckled, having his weeb moment before he thought of a simple K-bar knife, much like the knife he had already gotten, and it took a moment to clear his head and to really apply what he knew about the knife.
But soon, he was holding a knife just like the one he already had, already sharp. "This is good, but I shouldn't just lean on this weapon, I should always have a backup, it can break. Don't need it to break when I have no other weapon."
He stood up, going to the dresser that was in the room he begin to get dressed finally, having been naked all this time.
As he was pulling over a shirt on, having already pulled everything else on he began to check his skills, the first he wanted to find out was stealth. Opening his skills tab and going to it.
[Stealth: The ability to make it harder to detect Rain, can be toggled.]
'Toggled?' He willed the stealth ability to activate and he watched as the skill lit up. He didn't feel any different but he began to walk, and he noticed that his feet hitting the ground was a bit quieter, not by much. Looking to his mana to see if anything was draining after almost a full five minutes did it look like the bar moved. Deactivating the skill, it took only about thirty seconds for his mana to regenerate.
''So, the drain of stealth is, really really low, or my regeneration is fast enough to make it seem slow? But Since it doesn't take that much mana I can't see if it regenerates quickly, or if the skill is just slow to drain... Let's keep it on to level it up." As he did that he moved on to backstab.
[Backstab: If used, attacks from behind do double the damage.]
'Attacks, meaning it's not limited to melee, or ranged. As long as it's from 'Behind' it can be doubled.'
Moving onto hunter's vision, the one he had no idea could be he checked it.
[Hunters Vision: Makes the tracks of prey stand out.]
"...What?" He looked dumbfounded, thinking about it before he raised his brows. ''Maybe like how some games can help you find objects or people, like the Witcher sense?"
He turned it on and he didn't feel anything different, but he focused on his phone, when he did he began to look around, faintly there was a very faint print on his nightstand, and above it sat a normal smartphone, very gently glowing with a very slow thrum.
''Alright, that's cool, but there has got to be a limit to it, for now, one of them must be if there are no tracks, I won't be able to use it properly. Let's try a few things."
Opening the window he looked out it, watching people as they passed. Focusing on a guy with a hat on, he marked the man as his prey. The man seemed to stop momentarily before sneezing as he continued to walk. He had to squint, but he could very, very faintly see what looked to be soft glowing foot prints that followed the man, but would fade after every five or so steps.
'Does it get stronger if I have more information about a target? Is it only limited to people?'
He focused, switching his mark to the school. It was slow but as he looked around he began to have an almost instinctive pull towards a certain direction. When he looked up the route it got stronger, the way it was leading him was the way descripted from the map he looked at earlier.
Closing his window he turned Death back into a coin, putting it into his pocket he began to examine his clothing, it was actually good looking, and he realized he could 'Instant' equip it as long as it was classified as equipment, hell he could even make it so the effects that increased his stealth were off. Deciding to test it he walked down to the first floor of the apartment he was in, already having his phone, wallet and his keys together.
He stopped in front of the land lady who was sweeping the front and greeted her. She looked up and smiled to him.
''Your Japanese sounds much better Rain-Kun!"
He smiled, giving a soft nod of his head. ''Yes! I spent the last few days taking an online course and seeking help from a friend to better learn it, but I still have much to learn!"
The land-lady smiled kindly to him, but she then seemed to be slightly confused as she looked at him. He had pulled up his mask and his identity was hidden now because of it.
''Ara ara? Who might you be, are you looking for directions? Rain here cou... Rain?" She began to look around, having lost Rain, but activating stealth once more he stepped back into the first floor out of her sight.
''Oh that boy! Always playing tricks!... But it is good to see him adjusting well, I hope he does well in school." There was a gentle sigh from the woman.
The sense increase was very useful, and it wasn't over whelming. He was given the knowledge on how to adjust his senses to be what he needed. For now it was just a test to see how well he could hear.
But for now he trained them back a bit to his previous life, just a bit better. He would over time increase the strength of his senses until he could do it without the help of a skill or item to suppress it.
Making his way to the dojo he had found earlier that was just a simple 'Weapons Dojo' a place where people could train in all sorts of weapons. It had a small branch off that focused on martial arts without weapons as well, just a smaller area.
Making his way in, bowing gently in greeting to the woman attending the front he was easily guided to the martial arts area.
Currently a large area around a mat that was higher up say quite a few men and women, currently a woman and man were fighting in a spar it looked like.
There was only one other person standing that looked like the instructor. Seeing Rain enter in casual clothing, he tilted his head to another person in the area. This person stood to most likely watch over the fight as the man who had been standing walked over.
He was a large man with a fit build, short black hair and near black eyes, large arms crossed over his broad chest as he spoke. ''You a new trainer?"
Rain gave a slight bow once more. ''Yes! I've always wanted to learn, but I'm only now getting a chance to!"
The man was slightly taken aback, despite his very foreign appearance Rain spoke fluent Japanese, and even showed respect in his greeting. He could even feel the energy radiating off him, what eagerness to learn!
The man began to laugh as he pat at Rain's shoulder, before he stopped. Pulling Rains hand he pushed up the sleeve he wore. ''You're actually pretty fit kid? Ever do any training before?''
''Light training to stay in shape, father is military.'' There was a flash of understanding as the guy nodded. ''Well, let's get you into pair of training Gi's and have you watch a few spars before participating in one yourself to see how you do, that good?"
"Yes!"
Rain was like an excited child, he went from being a cripple and burden to his family, to being able to even work out and practice martial arts, who wouldn't be excited?!
