While the monster was dizzy, Luke used Stinger, and he made his sword pierce the skull of the creature and killed it instantly. He sighed in relief because his plan worked, and he defeated that beast by himself without getting wounded. On the side of the corpse of the monster, Luke found a mana potion.
"I will need a lot of these," Luke said and then grabbed the potion.
That street was completely dirty with blood and body parts of monsters and zombies, the smell was starting to get hard to ignore, and thanks to that, Luke could see many zombies heading toward him, and while that was a good chance for him to grind, he decided to do that later. First of all, he needed to check the area where the wolves were spawning. Once that was done, he would think of the best options he had.
Luke crossed the streets while ignoring most of the zombies and trying to hide the buildings in the area as a cover. After all, it would be bad if he were to fight against more of those wolves by himself. Thanks to that, Luke managed to ignore some of the monsters while hiding, but he would attack whenever he saw one alone. It was a waste to miss such a golden opportunity, and he needed to use his MP and SP, after all. It would be a waste to let them stay full and turn focus into something useless for a while.

You obtained 15 gold coins.
Congratulations! You have leveled up and obtained 05 status points.
Luke's plan was going pretty well… paralyze the starving wolves with two spark balls and finish them off during those precious moments with Stinger. While both of those skills needed to be used two times in a row for the monsters to be killed, it wasn't a problem since, thanks to his focus, Luke could use them three times per minute. He had adapted himself pretty fast to those enemies, but now he had to wonder where he should allocate his new status points.
"... I can't waste time thinking about this… I should let them pile up and only use them in case I find problems from now on," Luke muttered.
Following the magic warrior route didn't feel like his style. Still, in the end, Luke needed at least to use his extra mana while he fought to damage the enemies… until he finds a healing spell since that would be more useful to his current messy fighting style.
After five minutes of walking toward the city's east side, he found his next destination… in the middle of a park guarded by dozens of starving wolves. He saw a light-blue crystal floating a few centimeters above ground level. The park was only on the size of a block, so the number of starving wolves wasn't that massive, but it was enough to make Luke have a headache.
You received a quest.
Quest: kill the zombie.
Reward: 1000 gold coins.
"At least my guess wasn't wrong…" Luke said and then sighed while he was taking some steps backward. "I can't let them notice my presence, so I need to move away from here…"
Luke counted the number of starving wolves guarding the crystal, and he found fifty of them… it was a pretty dreadful number, but at least considering their numbers and the reward of the quest, he will obtain a lot of gold coins. Once he succeeds in that and night comes, he will have a ton of gold coins to spend.
"My current strength isn't enough to kill so many enemies, and I can't afford to use potions against them," Luke rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I guess I can only count on my skills to make up for that… by the way, which is the max level a skill can reach?"
"Level ten," Rina replied.
Luke nodded… he expected that much because it was getting hard to make his skills level up, and considering the benefits of each level up, it was only natural that they would have such limitations.
"Since the wolves are smart enough to guard the connection between earth and their world, I can't take this lightly…" Luke said and then took a peek at the crystal. "What is the spawning rate of that thing?"
"It depends on who is controlling it," Shalia replied. "Some mana is necessary to keep the connection open and the consumption of mana increases when one of them crosses it. If the one controlling the crystal has enough mana, he can send as many monsters as they want."
"Starving wolves aren't creatures that rely on spells only to fight, so they must have a limitation according to the size of their tribe," Rina added.
After watching the place for a while, they saw a starving wolf appearing every minute… the spawning rate was surprisingly high for such species. Nevertheless, the monsters were heading toward east, West, south, and north, so Luke knew he only needed to worry about a single enemy per minute. However, while that was a chance, it was also a problem because the monsters were spreading across Miami.
