Bab 489: This Was So Frustrating!

Josie's responding smile was rather sad after that. Everett's heart sunk. What was she thinking about now? Her family again? 

He didn't find out because things went quiet until it was time for pie. That put his worries temporarily out of mind because of how delicious they were. They were every bit as good as he had heard they would be. Now he wasn't sure whether Halloween or Thanksgiving was better. 

He had heard there were a lot of sweets around Christmas as well and couldn't wait to try them. There were other things he heard about it too though. A lot of other things. Like gift giving. 

Everett hadn't gotten Josie a gift for her birthday unless you counted the cake. He needed to do better this time.
