Bab 165: New tricks
It was a spell I had created when I was bored with Drak and Achlys. Under their guidance as the progenitors of magic, it quickly took form. It was simply an invisible blade that stretched out from the tip of my wand for a full 2 meters. Incredibly sharp and deadly. I took inspiration from Sectumsempra when creating it. and I seemed to do wonders. I didn't know what the limitation of the spell was since I hadn't tried it. I was able to cut a stone cleanly in half. But I handle tried metal yet.
But as if reading my mind, the next beast to appear several moments later after resetting my position was a dung beetle. A perfect test subject. Once again, I waited for the Professor to give the 'go ahead' before starting. Once the signal was given, the second battle began.
I didn't take the defensive and I didn't wait for my opponent. it would take too long since the thing was so slow. I skipped into a full-speed run as I bolted towards the beast. I had some other spells I had created that I wanted to try out. I really wanted to let loose but this floor was too low.
Setting the useless thoughts aside and getting my giddiness in check, I arrived in front of the beetle it swung its front-most leg in my direction. I did a quick spin and avoided the hit as the claw smashed into the ground.
I then swung my wand in an upward motion along the leg next to me. instantly, the leg fell to the floor as green blood spurted everywhere. I placed a protego to stop the blood as I stepped away.
I then evaluated the performance. The spell could easily break through the defence of the beast. Judging from Percival's statements, the defence of this animal was as strong as steel. Having achieved my aim, I decided to try out a spell I was most eager to use.
It was something I had thought about, there were no enhancement or buff spells in the wizarding community. It was like this area had never been studied. And if there were spells out there that could do some buffing, it was very minute or discarded completely. In any case, I strived to fix that during my free time in America.
I created a series of spells for many purposes, and the one I was going to use right now was the most basic and savage one.
I tapped my chest and grinned, "Herculean strength!" I yelled.
BOOOOOOOOM!
A massive torrent of air surged around me like a tornado as my muscles bulged. I felt weightless like I could shatter everything with a single punch. I doubted it was that extreme and was most likely due to the very sudden increase in strength. But I had done some tests before. I could easily lift a car single-handedly; I could run at an immense speed and jump incredible distances.
I saw the beetle coming my way and shot out its other front-most leg at fast speed. I simply stood there and extended out a hand.
BAM!
A cloud of dust surged up coving our figure.

Everyone was staring at Tom with interest as he walked towards the field. Abby had just gotten back and sat down where Tom previously did. They all looked at the field silently as they waited in anticipation.
When the Python appeared Jenna instantly perked up.
"Shadow python. Lives in swamps and hides within the shadows. It has a perfect camouflage ability when in a shadow that makes it invisible. It has impressive constricting strength and an overall fast beast. But its weakness is blunt force, they have a weak chassis to make them faster. But Tom doesn't know that I wonder how he will do," she commented as she cupped her chin with her left hand.
"Well considering he froze the entire school; I doubt this little thing will be a challenge." Abby commented coldly as she looked on. Everyone nodded in acknowledgement, she was right, something so little should not be a problem.
As they looked on they soon realised a problem, Tom was simply standing there. They also realised he was using a wand. A beautiful black and silver wand with an intricate yet delicate design. He stood there calmly with a smile as he watched the fast snake approach.
"What is he up to?" Robert asked with a slight frown. Everyone was silent as they look on.
"He couldn't be frozen in fear… right?" asked Jenna. This immediately caused her to receive mocking looks from the others. Abby frowned slightly as she looked on.
But it was all revealed soon as the snake lunged forward, Tom easily sidestepped it. they were all confused when they saw him raise his hand upwards in a slashing motion. This only served to confuse them more.
But when they suddenly saw the head of the snake slide of its neck cleanly, their jaws dropped.
"What did he do?" Jenna asked with an incredulous expression.
"I… have no idea," Abby said with an intense frown.
Percival was smiling while shaking his head, "the man can do telekinesis, freeze everything in a wide area, conjure flames, and can now cut things with a simple wave of his wand. How infuriatingly talented." He said with a laugh.
Jenna and Abby looked over, "telekinesis?" they asked at the same time. Percival nodded and explained. Once they got the entire story they first looked at the sullen John before gazing at the calmly smiling Tom.
"Monster" they mumbled.
They continued to look on as the next beast was introduced, when the beetle took to the field, Abby perked up. She was curious to see how he could handle it. would he copy her method, would he try using that weird technique of his, or was he going to do something new again?
But his next actions shocked everyone in the crowd. He sped forward and effortlessly dodged the leg of the beetle before casually slicing it off.
"WHAT!" Jenna shouted.
"That should not be possible, it's incredibly hard to cut through the beetle. It has a steel-like defence. To cut it at all is an impressive feat but to cut it off and so cleanly at that is insane. What's more, whatever spell he's using, it's nothing I have heard of. Not only does it act as a sword or blade, but it seems to be invisible. This drastically increases its lethality by serval fold." She analysed seriously.
