I take off my shirt and continue my training. I was detached from the rest, maybe too much so, I didn't even notice that there was a horde of girls watching me. A man approached me.
"How about a duel?" He asked.
He had white hair and blue eyes. This boy really seemed to be very popular here. The girls approached because he was there, and I had no idea who he was. He was a little shorter than me.
I couldn't stand being disturbed during my training and I hope he's strong. I don't want to waste time unnecessarily when I have class tomorrow.
"Why not?" I say and the boy grins.
He probably thinks I'm easy to beat, but he's wrong, I've been coming here with Louise for 3 years already. I've never seen him here before, but he reminds me strangely of someone.
We both head towards the combat zone. For the occasion they had called in a real referee. I looked around, no one seemed to be on my side, but that didn't mean I was going to be discouraged.
The ring isn't really big, it's only enough space for two people. I was starting to get annoyed as the young man preferred to blow kisses to his fans. I hate people who behave this way.
"Don't worry I promise to hold on to you." His fans shout even more when they heard this.
The referee is get between the two of us, the fight is about to start. I hope I won't have too much trouble beating him. I take a deep breath, but first the referee has to announce the rules.
"All moves are allowed but it is strictly forbidden to use magic." The referee prepares to start the fighting.
I concentrate, as soon as he blows the whistle I will launch an offensive. The referee whistles before stepping back and giving us all the space we need.
"I don't need you to hold back from me, you'll figure it out soon enough anyway."
" What can you do ?" he asks.
I look down at him, my height exceeding his by several inches.
" I will beat you ." I say, clenching my right hand into a fist.
He stares at me for a moment, before bursting out into laughter.
" Go ahead, try it," he says, his smile fading as he speaks.
He takes a step towards me, getting in my face. I stare at him, saying nothing. He balls his fist up to my chin.
" Come on." he says," I'll make you regret what you said earlier."
He tries to hit me with his first punch, but I just dodge it easily. He grins and starts throwing more punches. I manage to catch his fist and throw a punch of my own, hitting him in the jaw. He falls to the ground, as I wait him to make his next move.
I hit him again and his nose start to bleed.
" Come on, Judes, get up." his fan shout as his body hit the floor.
I grab his head, my fingers digging into his scalp, and lifts him until his dangling on the tips of his toes.
I slam my hand into his ribs, and he winces. The pain looks to ripples across his chest.
" Come on, Judes. Focus." shouted again his fans.
There was no point, we already knew who had won. Judes persisted in not wanting to stop the fight and I continued to hit him.
That is, until someone sensible came along and stopped the fight in his soft voice.
"Stop this fight, don't you see it's a one way fight. " It was someone I knew really well who spoke.
It was Theyla. She had white hair and black eyes, she was not really tall. She was a cold person with people, it was like she didn't like anybody except her family.
Theyla went over and picked up the boy. She paused to look at me before turning to Judes.
"What a reckless big brother you are. You just got slaughtered by that girl and you're still going on."
She always had that cold look in her eyes. Sometimes I even wondered why she was like that. If she smiled a little more she would be really popular with the men.
I get out of the ring, I don't belong here anymore. I just have to change and go home. Judes fans looked sad that he had lost to me.
I pick up my bag from the floor and walk out of the room. I walked down the corridors until I got to my room. I took a shower and wrapped a towel around my waist.
When I got out of the shower someone was in my room. It's not normally allowed to go into someone else's room.
"Excuse me for disturbing you." It was Theyla, I wonder how she found my room and what she is doing there?
"Why are you here and let me get dressed," I said as I walked to my bag.
I take some more comfortable clothes out of my bag. Theyla keeps looking at me as I try to get dressed. It's embarrassing, but I get dressed as quickly as possible. She is really not embarrassed at all, sometimes I wish I could be like her.
"I'm listening to you Theyla." She clears her throat before speaking to me.
"Is that you Ava?" she asked a little confused. I'm a little disappointed she followed me here for this.
"Of course it's me." I said, hitting her head, she hadn't recognized me from the beginning. I sigh.
"But you've changed so much that I didn't recognize you, and considering how muscular you are, it's normal that you beat Judes. " She had taken the time to observe me earlier.
"You came here to check me out", she blushed a little after I said this, I destabilized her.
"No, don't laugh at me, I'm here to teach you how to use a sword. "
Sometimes I forget that she was already elected best junior sword user. She is unbeatable, and yet she is never happy when she wins. She trains here every day. But How does she know that I need help. I put my towel in my bag.
" Louise is the one who asked me to help you."
Sorry for the spelling mistakes.
