***ADDIE'S POV***

My mind was still reeling. Queen Mallory had just defended me. Not just Holmes, but his wife, as well. The woman who had showed open disdain for me when she was in my country recently. The woman who I thought I would never be able to be friends with, was defending me to her own people. Members of her own family, as it would seem. Just the thought of it was making my head spin. And so was the ridiculousness of the way these people were behaving.

All of them, the entire gathering of witnessing nobles, were utterly still and silent. After the harsh and firm tones from Holmes and Queen Mallory, I didn't blame them for being a little scared. Not only had their very fierce looking bear king just demanded obedience, but so did their equally fierce, and infinitely grumpier, queen had done the same. Some of these people had just messed up, in a major way, and they were about to reap their rewards for it.
