**NOLAN'S POV**

Even with the rush of relief that was flooding through me, I was overwhelmed by something else. Something that was strong, primal, and dark. I had a need to find the person that had done this to my Addie, and to make them suffer. They would be punished and they would learn that you don't try to kill a man's fiancée, especially not my fiancée.

After the nurse stepped away from Addie, I saw that she looked just about as normal as ever, if maybe a little weak.

"Addie?" I sighed her name as I collapsed onto the side of the bed that she was sitting on. Rage or not, the relief was still showing itself in a few ways, and this was part of it. "Are you alright? Are you OK now?"

"I..I think so." Her voice was hoarse, like it was hard for her to speak. "I am not as sore as I was a moment ago, but my throat still feels like it is on fire."
