**NOLAN'S POV**

There was something about that man Briar that I didn't like. I don't know what it was, but I just didn't like him. He was close to Addie before she left for the city. He was a wolf that was hiding here in the village. And he had also hugged her. How was it that he had that kind of relationship with her? What had happened between the two of them in the past? Not knowing was nerve wracking, but I also didn't want to let my jealousy hurt Addie. I needed to let this go for the time being. I would talk to that man when we were alone. I would find out the truth sooner or later.

Now that Briar and I had agreed to talk later, in private, I was willing to let the conversation move on. For the time being, we needed to focus on Addie and her family. She had waited a long time to see them, and I was not going to ruin this day for her. I was going do all that I could to make sure that she had a pleasant visit, no matter what.
