The thing in front of Eden's eyes had Cherry's appearance but nothing about it reminded the blond of the cheerful teenager, the friend, the secret sharer who had been at his side for most of his life.

His golden irises stared at the face he recognized despite the transformation and everything inside him refused to accept what he was seeing, what the system was telling him. The female werewolf's eyes were black deeper than night, which made her eye sockets look empty.

Cherry stood in front of them, completely naked but her skin was pale. A pallor that only death could explain. Every vein of her body appeared black, and swollen, which made her look like she was wearing a thin jumpsuit. Her hair, which was once brown with fire-like red strands, proofs of her fiery temper, was now a deep black as ink. A black fog covered the ground at her feet. And that was just the changes in her appearance.
