Bab 15: Chapter Fourteen : When you're not happy to hear ''I'm happy for You.''
Thankfully both Lily and Scorpius got busy with their respective works to meet each other often. In whatever time they did meet, though Scorpius behaved normal but at the back of his head was a constant debate what should he do. He didn't want to break up with Lily but he also didn't want to put her at any risk due to his family.
One day when he came back from work he was surprised to see Albus sitting in his living room in front of his uncomfortable father. Draco might've tried to look okay with their friendship but Scorpius knew a certain hesitation still remained.
When his father noticed him entering he sighed in relief and stood up. 'Scorpius you're friend is here to meet you. I'll leave you two alone.' And in no time Draco left.
'Where were you? The se past thirty minutes were the most uncomfortable ones of my life.' Albus said as he stood up too.
'I had work.'
'If you were with Lily you can say it now that I know about you two.'
'I was not with her. There is genuinely a lot of work at the ministry.' Scorpius replied.
'Oh.' Albus shoved his hands in his pockets and looked at his shoes before raising his head to meet Scorpius's stare. 'I'll come straight to the point. I'm here to invite you to the beach house.'
'You want me to come?' Scorpius raised a brow. Every year the Weasley and Potter kids go to the family beach house for a small vacation to detox themselves from the wizarding world. They would invite their friends and partners as well, so obviously Scorpius had been going with Albus every year but this time was different which is why it was hard for Scorpius to believe that he was even invited.
'You come with us every year. It would raise everyone's suspicion if you don't go this time.
'Don't worry no one in your family hardly cares if I'm there or not.'
'James knows Lily is dating someone.' That's when Scorpius's heartbeat increased. James would never approve of his and Lily's relationship. 'If you don't come with us, he would get suspicious.'
'Can't you tell him that we fought?'
'He'll ask the reason and I don't want to lie to my brother. He has the right to know about it as much as I do.'
Scorpius narrowed his eyes. 'Do both of you realize that you interfere in your sister's personal life too much?'
'We have never...'
'You just said it was his right to know who she was dating. I sorry to remind you that you don't really tell Lily who you date nor does James. Then why the fuck Lily is obliged to do it?'
'Because we're her older brothers. We're supposed to look out for her.'
'Lily is very much capable of protecting herself.'
'But she's naïve. And by dating you she proved it.'
'You have so much problem with me being in a relationship with her yet you want me to come to this vacation.'
'I just want to keep Lily away from trouble that's it. If James gets a hint of what is going on between you two he's not going to go easy on her.'
'I won't let that happen. No one is going to hurt her when I'm here.'
'First think about protecting yourself. James is not a very big fan of yours.'
'Thanks for reminding me that.' Scorpius scoffed.
'So you're coming or not?' Albus asked.
'Fine. I'll be there.'
Albus nodded and was about to leave when he stopped and said, 'Just to be clear, because I invited you to be with us doesn't mean we're back to being friends again.' And then he left.
Tired from all the work and the conversation with Albus, Scorpius retired to his room and slumped down the bed. Closing his eyes he tried to collect his thoughts and just when his eyes started to feel heavy with sleep, someone opened the door to his room.
Shocked from the sudden noise he opened his eyes and sat up on the bed. 'Grandpa!?'
'Is something going on between you and Potter's daughter?'
'Huh?' Scorpius was confused.
'I asked if your dating Lily Potter?' His grandfather with his blonde hair and dark features had never looked this serious before.
Scorpius wanted to lie but before he knew, words came out of his mouth and he regretted it. 'Yes. I am dating her.'
'Good. I'm happy for you.' Did he hear it correctly, is what Scorpius thought. Had Lucius Malfoy actually said that? He was happy that his grandson was dating Harry potter's daughter. The guy who had spent majority of his life worshipping Voldemort was happy that his family member was dating that guy's daughter who had brought his god to an end.
'What did you say?' Scorpius had heard it correctly but he wanted to confirm it.
'I'm happy for you.'
Scorpius's heart and mind filled with doubt immediately and a minute later he was scared. Was Lucius planning something? Were other death eaters planning something? Was Lily part of their evil plans? Why the hell was he so happy?
