Chudley Cannons had won and there was no way there wasn't going to be a party. The host of the party was none other than James Potter who after winning had rightfully gained the permission to host it from his father only on the condition that it won't happen in Grimmauld place. Last time James threw a party there, it turned a nightmare for Harry and Ginny for bunch of teenagers laid drunk in every room, a sight they never wanted to see again in their lives. Hence, James and Fred decided it was better to throw the party at a hotel which could accommodate the amount of people they'd invited.
'Congratulation!' Rose shouted over the loud music as she walked towards James and Fred, both of whom were sitting near the bar counter, drinks in their hands.
'Thanks Cuz.' James gave her a side hug and so did Fred.
'Party has not even started and you're already drinking?' Albus who was just behind Rose said. This made James roll his eyes.
'Seriously Al, stop being mom!'
'I'm not being….'
'Okay stop it guys. Let's not spoil the mood here.' Fred interrupted the two brothers.
'Al, we are here to enjoy.' James said and slid a drink towards his brother. 'So why don't we enjoy together.'
Albus took the drink and gulped it down. 'Congratulations.'
'Oh don't be grumpy now. Come here.' And James hugged his brother who resisted as if his life depended on it.
'Get off me!' Everyone around them laughed. Out of many joys in life, what topped James's list was to annoy his little brother.
As the night came by people started pouring in. And surprisingly for many, even the loosing team was invited.
'Why are the Falcons here?' Thomas Wood asked Fred.
'Because they were invited.' Fred replied.
'I can only guess who will invite the enemies.' Thomas glared at James.
'It's a goodwill gesture, Wood. Something you won't understand.'
'Don't try to act cool.'
'I don't need to act, I already am cool.' With that James got off from his seat and walked away.
'Seriously man can't you two sort out your differences already? This is stretching out as if you two were in a relationship or something.' Fred said.
'Why don't you advise him the same?' Thomas said in annoyance.
'Because you're the more mature one out of the two.' With that Fred took his drink and went to escort his girlfriend who had just entered the venue, leaving Thomas behind to drink away his anger.

A little away from bar counter was the tables, one of which was occupied by the Falcons' captain David Goyle and Rose Weasley. They'd been dating for two years now. Rose's cousins knew about it which is why James made an exception and invited the Falcons to the party too. Not that he was comfortable doing so but when Rose wanted something he knew there was no saying no, so he gave in.
'Thanks for coming.' Rose said linking her arms with David's.
'Thanks for inviting me.' He smiled at her.
'Well you should be thanking James.'
'There's no way I'm doing that.'
'I know which is why I thanked him on your behalf.' She said smiling and he kissed her smile. A simple kiss turned into a heated making out session until they were interrupted.
'Seriously you guys are tempting me to take a video of you and send it to uncle Ron.' They separated and looked at the intruder.
'Lily! You're here.' Rose immediately got up and hugged her cousin. 'By the way you look hot!' She exclaimed as she examined her. Lily was wearing a black dress, with sleeves made of net and the highlight was it showed of her shoulders well.
'Thanks. You look gorgeous yourself.' Rose hugged her again.
'So you want to join us?' Rose asked.
'By the looks of your boyfriend, he doesn't want me to join you guys…' She tilted her head to get a better look at David and said, 'Do you David?' In return he just put on a smile and Lily could only laugh. The guy was known for being a badass but there was one person he was afraid of and that was Rose. Ever since they started dating people around him saw some never seen before changes in him. I guess love does change people, Lily thought.
'Don't mind him. I'm sure he doesn't mind you joining us.' Rose said shooting glares at him.
'It's okay. I anyways was going to just congratulate James and Fred and then leave. There's nothing much for me here.' Lily said.
'Are you sure about that?' Rose asked and pointed at something behind Lily, who turned around to see what it was.
There stood Scorpius Malfoy, in all his glory, looking like a demi-god. His hair fell on his forehead in a total mess, just like when he used to visit their house during summer breaks, otherwise his hair were always set back to make him look mature. He was wearing a black shirt whose sleeves were rolled up and first three buttons were open for everyone to have a glimpse of his abs. Lily slightly felt jealous, why was he showing off so much. She didn't want anyone else to crush over him, not that girls already didn't.
When Scorpius's eyes met Lily's, she gulped. She could also feel, he was just as affected by her presence as she was. But because of what had happened last night she also knew that to keep her self-respect intact she had to look away, and so she did.
Rose saw what she couldn't, Scorpius's disappointment, which made her smile. She had an inkling, today her cousin was going to get herself a boyfriend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To avoid Scorpius, Lily knew the only way was to stick to James for no one ever dared to talk to her in front of her elder brother. So as soon as she found him, she didn't think twice before jumping in between his group of friends.
'Congratulations brother!'
James accepted her hug but then also asked sternly, 'What are you doing here?'
She stepped back and frowned, 'What? Can't your sister celebrate your win with you?'
'We will celebrate tomorrow when we have family dinner.'
'Oh c'mon! I also want to have fun.' She whined.
'Yeah, James, let her also have fun.' One of his teammates said knowing fully well this will only irk the eldest Potter.
'You better shut up.' James snarled. 'And you go back home, now.' He ordered Lily.
'No I will not.' She folded her hands in the front.
'Lily…' He warned.
'James…' She didn't budge.
'Let her be.' The sentence came from Ted who smiled at Lily as he joined the group.
'See now I've got permission from Ted so I'm going to go and enjoy myself. See you guys later.' Lily playfully waved at James's friends and went to the dance floor.
'What if she meets a boy?' James said.
'How do you know? She can also meet a girl.' James gave a stare to Ted who only smiled, and the former knew there was no winning against him.
'Are things okay between you and Vic?'
'Don't worry they will be.' Ted said and excused himself as he saw Victoire making her way to the bar counter.
'Why am I surrounded by committed people? Don't know if I can tolerate so much love.' James muttered.
'Then find yourself someone to love too.' His teammate advised.
'Yeah right.' James laughed sarcastically.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lily stood on the dance floor completely clueless what to do. She didn't have a partner and dancing by herself would seem weird. Just when she thought of getting off the dance floor, a hand came and rested on her shoulder. Surprised she turned to look at the person and was confused. But as realization dawned upon her she smiled, 'Samuel'.
The guy grinned that she had recognized him. 'Lily Potter. Finally we meet again.'
'Yes. I mean how? What are you doing here in London?'
'My brother plays for the falcons. So I came for the finals.'
'Oh my god! Your brother plays for the Falcons. That's amazing. My brother and cousin play for the Cannons.'
'Yes. Yes. I know, I saw them totally crush my brother's team yesterday.'
'Well what can I say my brothers are the best.' And both of them laughed. They stood there on the dance floor talking about their time in France. Lily had met Samuel one day when she was visiting an art gallery. Both of them had hit it off well thanks to their mutual interests in art and soon became good friends. But then Lily had decided to come back and since then they hadn't been in contact.
They were catching up on what they did since they last talked and suddenly the music changed to a slow melody. 'Can I have this dance?' Samuel asked Lily who didn't hesitate to say yes.
They continued to dance and talk, and Lily was thankful she'd found an old friend. But little did she know, that from afar two people were watching them keenly and one of them was definitely not liking her closeness to the boy.
'They look cute together.' Rose remarked as she took a sip of her cocktail.
'Yesterday you were telling me to act on my feelings.' Scorpius said glaring at her.
'Which you didn't. I think it's right that she moved on.'
'Don't you think she moved on pretty quickly?'
'Scorpius, first decide what you want. You want her to continue liking you or move on? Because you being confused isn't going to help her in any way.'
'I don't know.' He gulped down his entire drink in one go as he stared at Lily and her friend, both of whom seemed too friendly. Scorpius hated that he was holding her and dancing with her like that. 'Who is even that guy?'
'Well from what David told me, he's Samuel, brother his teammate. I was also told that he delayed his return to France because he wanted to come to this party and meet Lily.'
'He knows her?' Scorpius looked confused.
'They met in France. I guess they have history.' Rose said cheekily.
'History my foot!' Scorpius scoffed.
'Take my advice, if you want to be with her, act now or after tonight I'm really not sure if she's still be crushing over you.' When Rose said that, Scorpius noticed she was looking at the dance floor where now Lily and Samuel danced closely and Lily had put her hands around his neck. Not being able to take it anymore, Scorpius put his glass down loudly on the counter and made his way towards the dance floor.
On reaching there he grabbed Lily's hand and separated her away from her friend.
'What are you doing?' Lily asked.
'We need to talk.' Scorpius said still angry.
'I don't have anything to say to you.' She replied and turned back to Samuel but Scorpius tightened his grip on her hand and started pulling her in different direction only to be stopped by Samuel. 'She said she doesn't wants to talk.' He said.
'This is between me and her, stay out of this.' Scorpius said.
'There is nothing between you and me.' Lily said and freed her hand. 'Not that you care about it.'
Scorpius closed his eyes and said, 'I care about it.' She turned to look at him but still didn't move. The Scorpius resorted to the last option he had, 'If you don't come with me right now, I'll call James here. And I'm sure he wouldn't mind sending you home.'
Lily sighed, just when she was having fun. People knew the only threat that worked on her was of her brother James, whose over-protectiveness went even beyond her father's.
'Sorry Sam I'll have to go. Let's meet again some other day?' She said to Samuel who looked disappointed.
'Are you sure?' He asked.
'Yes. Just give me a call when you're free tomorrow.' She said.
'Okay.' He replied still not happy that she was leaving.
Lily then turned to Scorpius and asked, 'Say what you've to say.'
'Not here.' He then took her outside in the lobby. 'What were you doing?'
'What do you mean?'
'You know what I mean.'
'I was dancing. With a close friend.' She emphasized the word "close" for she was enjoying his jealous nature.
Scorpius huffed, 'Close? You just met him few times in France and you're close already. I've known you for years, you've never called me a close friend.'
'Because we are not close. You just know me through my brother, that's it.' She was giving him a taste of his own medicine, and he knew it.
'You know we can't be together....'
'Here you go again. If this is what you want to say I don't want to talk to you about anything.' Frustrated, Lily went to the reception desk and asked for a room since she was a little drunk and tiered from all the dancing. She wanted to get some rest instead of going back to her aprtment.
'Sorry ma'am all the rooms are booked.'
'Huh?'
'Actually Mr. James Potter booked all the rooms already.'
'Then there must be one in my name too. Lily potter.'
The receptionist checked her system and shook her head. 'No ma'am there isn't a room in your name.'
'Check again.' When the receptionist said no again, Lily knew what was happening. James being James didn't want her to stay here overnight. 'What does he think I would do if I stay here that he didn't even booked a room for me?' She muttered to herself.
'Scorpius Malfoy. I want the keys to my room.' Scorpius came from behind her and asked the receptionist who put on the brightest smile on her face and handed him the keys.
'Seriously! Even you have a room?' Lily blinked at him.
'It's Albus and mine. But you're more than welcome there if you want.' He said showing off. She followed him to the elevator.
'I can't believe James gave you a room too.' Lily grumbled.
'Well no matter what he feels about me, he still cares about family. He gave me a room so that Albus won't feel bad.'
'After looking at today's party's expenses, I'm sure my parents will definitely make James feel bad.' This made Scorpius smile, something that he rarely did. Even when she was angry with him, Lily felt butterflies in her stomach when she saw him smiling.
'Ladies first.' Scorpius said as they entered the suite. He then went inside his room and brought back a blanket and a pillow with him. 'You sleep in my room. I'll go sleep on the couch.' He then went and settled those things on the couch.
'Don't tell me you asked me to leave Samuel behind so that I could sleep in your room alone?' Lily asked in disbelief.
'Then what were you expecting?' Scorpius asked innocently.
'You know what? I think it's still not too late, I should go back to the party.' She turned and was about to leave when Scorpius grabbed her hand and pushed her inside his room, closing the door behind them.
'Don't ever think of going back to him.' He said coming close to her.
'Why not?' She looked him in the eye as if challenging him and he finally gave in to the temptation.
