Bab 33: XXXIII

"Your life is mine since I saved your life, right? You clearly don't want your life anymore but I want it.

"I want you to keep to living that is why I saved your life," he told her firmly.

Aurora was not scared of him or anyone else but she felt fear when she heard what he said about her life.

She noticed that he wasn't as simple as he appeared and she wondered what awaited her with him.

"Eat, I want you to be strong enough to travel. Our journey back to the capital can't be delayed for too long," he told her with a soft careful tone.

" . . ."

"I want you to eat, okay?" he said softly like he was trying to coaxe a child.

". . ."

He seemed to be running out of patience as he watched her ignore his existence. He exhaled and walked out of the room angrily.

Aurora opened the plates to see hot porridge in one of the plates.

She lifted the spoon and dipped it in the porridge without appetite.

She raised the filled spoon up to her lips but paused when it was only inches away from her lips.

She returned the spoon into the porridge with an expressionless face.

She laid down on her back on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

She was sure that they were in an inn seeing the bad quality painting on the ceiling that looked like the painter tried his best to imitate a well known painter.

She slowly drifted off to a dreamland when her eye lids felt too weak to keep her eyes open.

She stared. She was faced with endless darkness that seemed to be thick enough to be cut by her sword.

She could only hear the sound of her breathing loudly and with so much effort.

When the moon decided to be merciful enough to let her see what was ahead and around her, she found out she was in a very quiet forest.

It was hard for a forest to be this quiet with the number of noctunal animals parading at night.

Their music are usually endless but she could hear none of them.

Even the wind seized to blow as she could not hear the rustling of the leaves of the trees or even the grasses.

The trees cast shadows around the space she stood in Forest but she could see the moon was full and bright up when she raised her head and the darkness was gone.

She felt warm wetness that made her look down at her hands which was stained with blood.

Just before her feet and ahead all around her, laid the carcasses of animals.

She could see owls, bats, wild cats of different sizes and species.

She was so shocked by what she saw that she took a step back only to step on the carcass of an owl.

She fear she felt due to the weird feeling of the body under her leg sent her to the floor but since the floor was covered, she fell on them.

When she understood what made the floor feel furry and had mixture of hard and soft contours of bone and flesh, she screamed.

She struggled to stand up but she could not do that without touching the bloodied body of the carcasses.

She was losing her mind. The thick strong metallic smell of blood that filled the air made her feel like emptying her stomach of its contents but nothing came out but water.

She began crying hard. There was no way she could leave the place she was without stepping on the carcasses and that was definitely not something she wanted to do.

She was shaking furiously and it seemed nature was pissed off by the sight and cold wind began blowing making her shiver.

She hugged her arms to notice she was only wearing a black sleeveless night dress. Her hair was fluttering in the wind along with the Hem of her black gown.

She felt lost and alone but soon she felt the presence of another being approaching her fast from afar.

She had no idea and no time to even think about how she could feel the presence of a being which was still far off.

She made no attempt to run in her state of confusion and her fear of running on the those carcasses.

She was normally not scared of killing a bird or rabbit for her dinner even during her journey but the sight around her was not pleasant in anyway.

As the being got closer she could see a pair of red glowing eyes staring at her among the shadows of the trees.

She did not bother to run. She stared back and watched the being move closer until she was faced with a very large wolf.

It had clean brown fur. She expected the wolf to do two things. Either it kills her or it dies like the animals around.

The wolf did none of that as he used its mouth to drag the carcasses of the animal away to provide a part way for her.

As she watched this happen until the part before her was cleared of all the carcasses, she felt confused.

The wolf walked around in a manner that she found out was filled with pride and majesty.

The wind also blew on its fur and its fur danced in the wind in a beautiful and unique way.

She had long frozen on her spot with only her eyes moving to watch the movements of the wolf.

It stood at the end of the now incomplete circle of carcasses and waited for her.

When she remained fixed, he went to her and close to her, she noticed the wolf was really larger than she thought it was earlier.

It stood and tugged at the Hem of her gown. She was so scared. This was the largest wild animal she has ever seen.
