Bab 4: Late presentation and some questions
Interestingly, contrary to the unspoken general rule, my mother took care of me rather than giving that responsibility to the house elves, as would be the norm among pureblood wizards. I knew that my second cousin, Draco, was not personally taken care of by someone as snooty as Narcissa. Nor any other magical child, now that we're at it. It said a lot about the amount of affection I was getting for free from the most amazing woman alive. There was no certainty about my magical talent or anything like that, but she gave me unconditional love all these months. She was my mother now, and I already accepted it...
She also called me little prince sometimes. It didn't make sense, because we were common nobles of wizard society and there wasn't a king in our world... Although supposedly, wizard communities are under the authority of the British government, and therefore we answer to the Queen... Or not. Who can say with mind spells being the norm?
I mean, what stops a wizard from going around raping muggle women and then obliterating their recent memories? Witches did it against wizards, as Lockhart did to people who fought the monsters he described in his books. The amount of half-bloods in the world that could have been spawned in this vile way is countless. Nothing stops a wizard from altering the memory of royalty and turning it into a puppet. As far as I know, this Morphin Gaunt was one of the many wizards who went around doing such heinous things in the muggle world. Thinking of the inbred bastard who was murdered by Voldemort made me a little mad. Witches were scum in many ways, as far as I could tell.
The biblical myth about Jesus itself, if we add witches to the equation, can be disputed as we can conclude that the Savior was not of divine origin, but... well, you get the picture. Son of a disgusting wizard who raped Maria and then erased her memory. It would kind of make her claim to be a virgin, since she had no memories of not being. All the miracles performed by him can be explained by magic, even the resurrection, as long as the resurrected person drank the potion of living death within three days, and then he gave him the cure shortly thereafter. Although, I have to think that there was a certain... premeditation of the baby Jesus. But that was just guesswork. A very doable assumption, but an assumption nonetheless. Just walking on water could be tricky without rune shoes, but it's not impossible to control the magic to work with walking on water. Not that this is the answer to my old world. There was no magic in my old world because the satellites would have easily discovered it. Hardly a wizard could hide in the 21st century. Unless, of course, the companies were theirs from the start.
But let's talk about me.
My last name was Von Benno. My name was Vitra. I didn't hate that name. Vitra was a name of Russian origin if I'm not wrong, and Von Benno of German origin. In fact, Vitra was not the name of a dragon? Something about sucking energy? Something like? I'm not sure if I remember it well, but it wasn't time to think about it. My mother is called Alice Von Benno, and she was the head of the family. Our family was not patriarchal like most, we valued merit. The most talented person would become the leader of the family, unfortunately, thanks to No Nose, only Mom and I are alive. Currently protected by a Fidelius spell in a house in France.
Only I know that in a few months, or maybe a year, Voldemort would be killed by Lily Evans' genius. Soon after, Harry Potter will be named the Boy Who Lived and Voldemort will be labeled You-Know-Who. Though I don't know who, do you know who? Ironically the heroine who saved the wizard world was forgotten and all her credit was transferred to a child who could barely speak. Harry Potter was average in the entire period that the book and movie series showed. He was dumb, lackluster, incredibly dense, and without any common sense. He had the belief that he was special in some way, but he was just another ordinary wizard with little or no effect holistically speaking. Seriously, his only accomplishment was casting the Patronus spell in 3rd year, and that was out of necessity rather than ability itself.
Let's not even mention that his enemy was an idiot without equal in the world. I mean, does Voldemort think he can take over the wizard world? Grindelwald did not achieve this by possessing the wand of wands, while he had better control over the Dark Arts and did not corrupt himself with it. The mere fact that Gellert had his soul intact could already show his superiority compared to Voldemort. Still, Dumbledore was able to beat him. Nor are we going to talk about the impossibility of other magical communities not getting involved in the situation. The ICW for example. Does Voldemort think he would get supporters around the world? Gellert only achieved this with logic and well-constructed speeches. He helped his cause, to have a proper human appearance with only a few signs of ritual in his eyes and gray hair. No Noseless he was ugly, weird, manic and half his soul missing. Who besides crazy would follow him?
There was no merit in following Voldemort, for God's sake! What did a follower gain besides being tortured by Cruciatus every time No-Nose was thwarted? Nothing. Sure, there were some sociopaths and sick people who had fun hurting, raping, and killing Muggles, but that was it. There was no merit.
Already Gellert? Let's be honest... Queenie Goldstein was just one example of unbiased wizards who followed Gellert. She loved a Muggle, used light rather than dark magic, and was always decisively kind and effusive. Still, she followed the dangerous man. She was in the light wizard category, for all that matters. If we were to compare, she was like the Weasley. Do you think someone like her would follow Voldemort? Anyway...
But back to my story and family support. The name Von Benno reminded me of a cool anime by Isekai about a Japanese guy who ended up in a magical world and became a strong wizard with an affinity for wind. Could I have such an affinity? It would be too much of a coincidence. But the main character had that last name. Maybe we have something in common, I'm not sure. Anyway, my current life wasn't bad, apart from the occasional tension and fear in my mother's features.
Our family being eradicated overnight might have something to do with it.
Worst of all... it seems that it was Lucius who turned my family over to No-Nose, as a token of loyalty. It also helps that when we die, our wealth can be claimed by the bastard. Anyway, I've decided the Malfoy will be my enemies. Not that I was going to befriend a Malfoy anyway. After all, if Draco was any indication, no Malfoy deserves to be in Slytherin as they are anything but cunning. Just thinking about it made me angry. Damn ferrets! I'm going to make Draco's life hell, just wait.
Of course, if and only if I can be considered a full-fledged wizard and can go to Hogwarts.
The first thing I will do is take possession of the Black House landlady. From what I saw from my family tree, my grandfather was the son of the house Black... although he was married into the Von Benno family as my grandmother was the head of the family. Anyway, I can take an inheritance test in Gringotts and become an heir before I go into the Mansion and talk to the nasty old woman's board about things. I knew that Lucius Malfoy had been the cause of Sirius Black's arrest so that his son would become the future Mr. Black thanks to his mother. Just dream of that landlady, bastards!
My family was rich, and now I was the only remaining heir. My father was unknown, and my mother didn't talk about it, unfortunately.
I could see it wasn't a tragic fruit, but the person who put his seed in my mother wasn't there. Either he abandoned her after getting what he wanted, or he was killed in the war with No Nose. But wealth was welcome. I had a meta-knowledge of the future of this world and would take advantage of every advantage I could have. It also helped that I was a magician. Being a magician was cool.
But thinking about it more deeply... what version of Harry Potter was I on? I won't be optimistic in thinking that Dumbledore is a good guy, nor would I think that this world didn't have more than just British wizards. In the plot itself, there was never mention of other supernatural societies. We had vampires and werewolves named, but that was it and nothing more. Veela was also lightly quoted, without really delving into the subject. If I think about it, this world couldn't just be what's been shown in books and movies. There were dozens of different races, as far as I know. Only Mermaids and Goblins are perfect examples of intelligent beings who haven't had a lot of screen time. I need to research these things when I can. It would be a necessity.
Were there no forest elves other than house elves? Or clan of cultivating wizards? There were theories about this in eastern magical communities, and I think it might be interesting to visit those places. Do they function like sects? It can be fun to join a cult. I will be a typical young master if I end up in one of these sects.
