"Pfffffft...! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!"
Lucian burst out in laughter holding his sides, shaking so much as if he was about to really burst apart.
"D-don't laugh at me! I was really worried that I did something terrible!"
I cried out in embarrassment and slapped his shoulder.
"Ahahahahah...! Whew... sorry.. sorry... and you even stomped at them by the elevator...? And they all got scared and ran away...? Pfffffft...!"
"Stop laughing at me...!"
"...!"
I yelped with a pitiful face and that caused Lucian to instantly calm down and grab my hand with an apologetic expression.
"Whoa, I wasn't laughing at you, alright? It's just – I have never realized that this will be how the vampires would react to you – I thought that they would at most try to stop you from entering – but it seems like they completely panicked instead – and that's hilarious."
He explained, holding back the laughter the best that he could.
"Then... you are saying that there will be no consequences for the trouble I caused...?"
I asked, making sure that I was in the clear.
"You caused trouble? Alexis, if anything I can call the higher-ups of that place and demand that they will send you the head of that servant – Rose, or whatever his name was – immediately. As for that intern, things are sadly a little more troublesome, but I at least can make sure that he will be sent to the opposite side of the planet to never bother you again."
Lucian said looking at me completely serious.
...wha...
...n-no...!
"Hold on – there's no reason to kill Rose...! I mean he was really mean to me and all, but asking for his head would be a way too much...!"
I already relieved most of my dissatisfaction with Rose back when I shouted at him on my way out from his office – there was no reason to ask for anything more!
"Same with the intern – as long as he promises not to bother me and agrees to go to some meetings to stop being such a little sexist prick – there's no need to going that far with any of them...!"
I waved my hands in panic and hurriedly declared.
"Huh... If you say so – I will make sure that it will be arranged."
Lucian nodded, took out his phone, and typed something fast before putting the phone back into his pocket.
"That said and done – you really had a stressful day. Is it ok for me to spent the rest of it with you?"
He looked back at me, smiling in such a captivating way that I could not take my eyes away from him, and completely forgot to answer him.
"...is that a no...?"
I took so long with the answer that it made him worried and he leaned down and looked up at my face as if he was much smaller than in reality.
I should answer him.
Hey! I really should answer him...!
Mouth! MOVE!
"But my apartment is dirty..."
...Ah...!
Crap – I am making a good point there – I haven't cleaned up in a while – like a while- a while – I can't let him see my sloppy side, that's way too early...!
"Hmm? But it wasn't that bad when I took you back there this morning... Since I could find the charger for your dead phone no problem, that means the mess is still under control, right?"
Lucian tilted his head and furrowed his brows undoubtedly recalling how things were...
...kill me now...
...of course, he was the one who got me back...
...and that also clears out the reason why did my phone died back in my old company – it wasn't charging through the night at all, so it wasn't on full charge anyway...
"...you already know I'm a slob..."
I cried out in embarrassment and hid my face in my hands.
"No, seriously, you're not though...?"
Lucian tilted his head even more and said with actual confusion.
...aww... he looks like a confused puppy when he does that...
I peeked at him from between my fingers and blushed to make use of already hiding my face.
Then, I glanced at the distance he put between us while sitting – since he pulled back respectfully the moment he saw that I was feeling alright...
"The werewolves seem a lot different than what I imagined them before..."
I confessed, or rather let the thought slip through my mouth – ugh... it was either blabbing out everything that came to my mind or not speaking at all, no in-between...
...embarrassing...
"Ah, so like in the popular media, right? Savage, brutal, and wild?"
Lucian nodded and smirked at me.
"That's actually a very accurate representation – in most cases anyway."
He shrugged and declared without even batting an eye.
"Eh...? But you are so much different than that image...!"
I gasped in shock – making his smirk turn into an awkward smile.
"Thank you... I hope...?"
He laughed, leaning to the side.
"If I'm different that's because my father hired a military dog instructor as a nanny for me since I was two years old. I'm guessing that it might have something to do with the greater than average self-control I have."
He answered lightheartedly.
"Pffft...!"
I snorted and shook from holding back the laughter.
"No, seriously – I completed the military dog training, I'll show you my diploma, or certificate, whichever it was."
His smile widened and he leaned back on the luxurious seat.
...he was really trying to make me feel at ease, and that alone was making me feel so warm and fuzzy inside...
The rest of the way passed with the two of us doing a little small talk...
…
...with Lucian initiating the small talk since I was too busy admiring his nonchalant sexiness, so I had a really hard time coming up with any subject that didn't start with 'let me touch your abs' or something...
We got out of the limousine near my apartment since even small cars had trouble finding a parking spot under the complex no matter the time and day, and the emerald-eyed hunk of a man followed me politely at a respectful distance all the way to my door.
I put the keys in, twisted it, and it unlocked with a dry sound.
With that...
...I let the not-so-secret werewolf to my home and life...
