Mrs. Yu recoiled slightly at her husband's harsh words, her eyes wide with hurt and disbelief. She had expected some resistance from her mother-in-law, but her husband's cold accusation stunned her.
"Holea is not an outsider!" Mrs. Yu defended. Her face turned red due to anger.
Mr. Yu sneered,
"Yeah right. She is a child I wish I never had. So disappointing!"
A glint flashed past in Mrs. Yu's eyes and she closed her eyes without saying a word.
Yu Holea's eyes turned cold.
As if not seeing Yu Holea's expression, Mr. Yu continued,
"You're making baseless accusations. My mother may be overbearing at times, but she would never harm her own daughter-in-law. This is absurd.'
Yu Holea's jaw clenched, her fists tightening at her sides.
She had anticipated Mr. Yu's defense of his mother, yet his callous dismissal of Mrs. Yu's suffering cut deeply.
Such a scumbag.
That was all Yu Holea could think.
