Millie and the detective's conversation was cut short by the door to the hospital room pushed open by Bardrick. Both women froze as though they had been caught stealing money from the cuss jar.

"Really?. You brought her beer?." Bardrick sent a plain look at Donna, who responded with a hopeless expression. She couldn't flat out deny it, but didn't want Bardrick having the wrong thoughts.

"It's okay, I needed something strong." Millie swiftly chipped in, raising the beer sheepishly over her head. Glad he rather focused on that rather than why Donna had come visit.

The detective rolled his eyes at Donna as he walked past her, seizing the beer from Millie, an all knowing look plastered on his face. Bardrick lifted the beer to his lips and gulped the rest of it down, not minding the panicked expression vivid on both women faces.

{Holy shit, that was an indirect kiss.} Millie thought to herself, fumbling with the edge of her plain white shirt.
