"… Yes, you do not really want power. But honey, you desire to have most among the people of the same class as you," I said. "Among the rulers, don't you want to have the most power?"

"… It's not about wanting. It's just… I feel like I need it," he said. "But that doesn't mean I want to use you because of that, or something. If I had to use you to have the most power, I would rather have less."

"I know. It's because you love me," I said. 

He lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. "Before, yes, I was power-hungry. I won't say I am not anymore. But it's not mandatory now," he said. "That time, I did not have something I held dear. I had no hobby, no love, nothing at all. Power was the only thing that made me work. I wanted it. I wanted more and more."
