Bab 16: There’s no one else
"That was tiring…" Noah grumbled slightly while stretching his body. "I never want to take an escort mission again…"
After a few days of outing, everyone had finally come back to Jujutsu High, currently standing at the entrance of it.
"It was quite fun." Gojo answered with his usual smirk. "I got to beat a lot of people."
"Are you a sadist?" Noah looked towards him and questioned, to which Gojo replied without missing a beat.
"I wouldn't mind playing with my opponents."
"Good." Noah nodded in understanding. "Same."
Despite them acting nonchalant, anyone sensitive enough could tell that there was this subtle tension in the air.
Like an invisible hand looming over everyone's head, making them tense in both their mind and body.
Noah's eyes met with Gojo and Geto for just a passing second, his mind solely focusing on <<Sense Enemy>>, making sure not to miss a single detail.
Yet, there was this weird feeling within his mind.
He gave the Tier 2 spell list a passing glance.
I don't know if it will work, but I can give it a try — he internally said, making sure Murphy doesn't fuck him up all over.
"We will lead you to the tomb then." Geto said to Riko, who looked all down in mood and spirit.
But just the moment they moved, as if coming out of thin air, the sound of flesh being pierced entered everyone's ears.
Drip…Drip… Drip… From the tip, one by one, like a loss nozzle, blood dripped.
The air seemed to halt, everyone's breath stagnating as they stared wide-eyed towards Noah.
"Fuck…" Noah said, the words leaving his mouth with difficulty as he stared down at the sword piercing his heart, dyed in red with his blood.
"One down, two to go." With a smirk of a wild beast, Toji said, making Noah turn his head around with difficulty, staring at the face of the man who stood at the pinnacle of this world.
A smirk formed over Noah's face, a trail of blood leaving his lips.
"I knew it… I shouldn't have messed with Murphy Law…"
Ignoring his random mutter, Toji mercilessly pulled the sword out with force, making Noah groan as the fountain of blood leaked from within his wound.
His legs went weak; he felt all the strength leaving his body.
First his legs bent, his knee hitting the ground with audible sound soon followed by his whole body, splashing the blood around him and dying the ground with a beautiful color of red.
Silence — complete silence took over everything.
A gust of wind blew, carrying a sweet smell of blood with it, pulling everyone out of their shocked state.
"NOAH!" Gojo and Geto shouted, both vanishing from their position as they moved towards Toji, who smirked at the coming strongest sorcerers.
There was no fear on his face.
Fear? What a weird word. Toji was a man who has never felt fear and it was the same even in front of the strongest sorcerers.
Without any wasted moment, he moved away from Noah into a distance, staring at Gojo—his next target.
"Shit! The sword pierced his heart! We need someone who knows the Reversed Cursed Technique!" Geto shouted, announcing the situation to Gojo, who had his usual smirk missing as his jewel-like eyes stared at Toji.
"Take Riko and enter the tomb Suguru, I'll take care of him."
His usual playfulness was missing from his tone, an indication of how angry he was currently.
"But—"
"Don't worry." Gojo said, the air around him trembling as his cursed energy leaked from within his body, a ferocious grin taking over his face as he said. "I'm the strongest after all."
A silence emerged with Geto staring at Gojo's back, contemplating his choices before he grit his teeth, giving Noah's body one last look, picked Riko and Misato, and ran.
He knew if he stayed here, he could protect himself but not Riko and Misato.
This was the fight between people who have reached the top of Jujutsu World, normal people like Riko and Misato would only be getting in the way of the fight.
Riko was Toji's real target, they can't let her remain here any longer.
"My initial target was you, Gojo Satoru." Seeing Geto running away, Toji didn't say anything but just smirked.
"So? Am I supposed to be honored?" Gojo questioned, his hand tucked into his pants.
"If you want to…" Toji answered with a smirk, vanishing from his position completely, making Gojo's eyes widen to extremes.
'Fast! Noah wasn't joking when he said Toji is fast.'
Knowing about the Inverted Spear of Heaven, Gojo was not willing to take any chances.
So instead of blocking the attack with Infinity — like he always did — he moved away instead, dodging the slash of the sword aimed to decapitate him.
'Not only is he fast, he doesn't possess any cursed energy.' Appearing some distance away, Gojo pulled his hand back, the space cracked before vanishing, creating a void.

A Technique that created a void in the air, and to correct the disturbance in the world, the world would try to fill that gap, resulting in a huge suction.
Toji's eyes widened as he moved aside, the suction pulling everything in it before crushing it.
'Due to him not possessing any cursed energy, I can't see him either. It is hard for me to read his moment.'
Gojo knew this since he had fought with Noah before, and he had realized it, in the face of Noah's speed and surprise attack, Gojo had close to zero chance of dodging.
The only answer he came to was to use his instincts to dodge Noah's strike, he could do the same here, but he hesitated.
'With his speed, can my instincts follow it?'
He didn't know, but thankfully, unlike Noah, Toji used Cursed Tools.
'I can see them.' He stared at the sword in Toji's hand and the curse around his body. 'Is that Inverted Spear of Heaven? I don't know.'
His mind worked fast, processing every possible detail around him.
Knowing that it was impossible to trust his instinct right now, Gojo put all his focus on the cursed spirit around Toji.
It was small, its presence was small, and the curse energy it possessed was small — all of it made it hard for Gojo's eyes to find its presence normally, that's he had to focus completely.
But first…

Dozens of void appeared around in the vicinity, pulling everything within it, destroying everything around him as the center.
'First, remove the possibility of using the terrain to hide.'
Since he can't get a read on him, he needed to remove everything around him in which Toji could hide.
With nothing left around him, Toji would have no chance but to come out in front of him.
His eyes moved, the sound of small flies filled the world, all of them swarming their way towards Gojo before starting to circle around him.
'Did he hide all of them in that cursed spirit?' He wondered. 'Where is he?'
His focus was raised to the max, his eyes were being used like never before, his body was tense as he looked all around him.
The world around him has changed to the point where it wasn't a normal world any longer.
It was the world that he was used to seeing, the world where everything was slow to the point it would make one crazy.
One second outside was as long as one minute inside—his mind, yet, despite all of this, he could not find Toji.
'There!'
Feeling the disturbance behind him, he moved—a different weapon in Toji's hand.
Instinctively, Gojo knew this was the Inverted Spear of Heaven—the timing matched perfectly to use that weapon.
He knew, if this dagger hit him, he would be dead.
He can't let Toji hit him with it.
He can't—

Softly and precisely, like a hot knife cutting the butter, the dagger pierced his throat.
His eyes stared at the small nails of confetti that pierced his knee, ankle, hand, elbow, pretty much making his moment sealed by piercing the main joints.
"Did you really think I was the only one you were fighting?" Toji's smirk widened as he said. "Zoldyck does its job even after the defeat. You guys should have killed these kids back when you had a chance."
Gojo's eyes landed on the distinct figure of a small girl with a fan over her face, her pink eyes devoid of any emotion as she stared at him.
'How?' A question appeared in his mind.
Both Kalluto and Illumi were bound by the talisman that blocked their curse energy, then how?
And then it hit him.
'He used the Inverted Spear of Heaven to cut those talismans when I destroyed my surroundings.'
Knowing Gojo can't reply with his throat pierced, he pulled the dagger down, cutting his flesh along the way.
Like a lifeless body, Gojo started to fall.
Toji's hand blurred, the dagger's back held towards Gojo's head, piercing his brain before he pulled his hand back.
Gojo, the strongest sorcerer and the processor of Six Eyes—died.
"Hmmm. I'm starting to remember it now."
Ignoring the body of Gojo, Toji smirked while relaxing his body.
"Two down, one to go."

Toji's eyes widened in realization—he can't move his body.
In a burst, black-haired youth appeared in front of him with a sword in his hand—cleaving through the air, it made its way towards his neck.
The time seemed to come at a halt as Toji stared at the coming sword, his life flashing before his eyes.
He knew, if he didn't move, he would die.
Yet… his body refused to move as he hopelessly stared at the coming sword.
Move… Move… Move… movemovemove—the same word repeated within his mind, ordering his body to move, trying his best to overpower whatever has restricted him.
A miracle happened.
In that moment of life and death, Toji's mind broke through the limit.
The world cracked before his eyes, everything becoming uncontrollably slow.
Even the smallest particle of dust seemed to slow down for him to see.
'What is this?'
He questioned, but no one replied to him.
His eyes moved towards the black-haired youth, finally able to see his face.
'He is alive? How?'
His eyes widened by a margin, as he saw Noah's eyes move with his eyes—in astonishment, he stared at him.
'I see… So this is the world he sees…'
Move—another command, this time his body answered.
The dagger in his hand moved, intercepting the coming sword, and deflecting it away.
He took a step forward, his other hand moving towards Noah's throat—his fist aiming to break it.
Just in time, Noah's hand moved as it blocked the fist, but the power behind it was enough to shake his very being.
A shock wave appeared, the ground around Toji cracked before a wave was released with him as the center.
The sound of air being cut apart entered into his ears before a loud explosion, the building in front of him completely destroyed into utter ruins.
As the dust settled, the black-haired youth, with the help of his sword, stood there.
His body rattled with wounds all over, but the fire within his eyes was enough to burn the world.
A reddish aura started to leak from within Noah's body, creating a weird sight of air being bent around him, looking as if it was being melted down.
"One surprise after another… I knew you were the most dangerous one. What is that? Did you go through Zenkai boost or something?"
"Heh. Don't mind the small details." Noah said, his black eyes holding a slight redness within them. "I also don't like using this power, but since I'm in another world, I'm sure it would not affect Mikoto's wellbeing. Since that's the case, I can go all out."
"Is that so?" Despite not understanding what he was saying, Toji smirked, excitement welling up into his whole being. "Let's start round two then."
Two people, both of them didn't possess cursed energy, the fight between them was about to start.
Who will win?
No one knew.
But one thing was certain, both of them felt like they were thrown into molten lava,
Their blood boiled with excitement.
They wanted nothing more than to kill the other.
