Bab 20: Naljaag
It took Thor 2 months to travel to Naljaag but when they got there they were surprised to find the place empty. Suspicious of this development Thor quickly had Sigrid and Gnar explore the town. As Thor was walking around and looking in buildings and other structures he was surprised to hear Gnar yelling on the other side of the town.
He rushed over there to see what was going on only to find Gnar jumping around a building and when Gnar spotted him he ran over and pointed at the building. "Somethings in there I'm guessing?"
Gnar nodded his head as he kept pointing at the building. Thor approached the building with his swords out and put his ear against the door to see if he could hear anything. He could hear something that sounded like faint breaths so he opened the door slowly while peeking his head in to find a room with a bed, a fireplace, and some other things that you would see in a small one room home.
He slowly walked in while closing the door behind him, already taking a guess as to what was in here as the faint breaths have gotten much clearer and going off what he can hear more frantic as well. He walked to the fireplace and used regular fire magic to light the wood that was sitting in there.
After that he grabbed some ingredients he found around the house like some eggs and bacon from a druvask. While taking out some seasonings he carries around with him at all times as they are pretty much universally good to put on things and they are Salt, Pepper, and the occasional Garlic. Now he just sprinkled a little salt and pepper onto the eggs while they were cooking to give it extra taste. Once that was done he took a cup and filled it with some water he had with him and once all that was done he went near the bed before setting the food down on the floor beside the bed.
After a couple minutes of no movement Thor decided to get the ball rolling. "Well if you don't want to eat it I guess I will eat it myself" As soon as Thor said that he heard rustling under the bed and not long after a head popped out from under the bed followed by the rest of the body.
What appeared before Thor was what looked to be a 11 year old girl with black hair and green eyes which is quite rare to see in general but especially rare in the freljord. She quickly pulled the food to herself and started eating up the food. Thor smiled a little before sitting in front of the fire and started using his fire abilities to manipulate the fire and have it change shape and circle him. Before long Thor could feel a pair of eyes on him so he turned around and had the fire change shape into a butterfly that flew around the girl.
She on the other hand was looking at this with wonder and amazement in her eyes before the butterfly vanished. "Can you tell me what happened here?" Thor asked as he felt it was a good enough time. He could see fear and sadness in her eyes as soon as Thor brought up the subject but she didn't back down and explained to Thor what happened here. Apparently it happened around a week ago, It was a normal day when suddenly the village found itself being attacked by Noxians out of nowhere. The Noxians quickly incapacitated the fighters before rounding up the ones trying to escape.
Apparently the girl's mother had her hind under the bed while she went with the Noxians willingly so they wouldn't search her home and find the girl. From what the girl heard from the other side of the door when the Noxians were talking to each other they had attacked the village because they needed more slaves to operate their mines at their fort.
While she was talking the girl slowly broke into tears while Thor just hugged the child and consoled her. After a bit the girl slowly calmed down enough for Thor to tell her what's going to happen. "I will save you mother and the rest of the village ok? But while I'm doing that you have to be strong and wait here" The girl was about to protest as even though she wanted her mother and the rest of the village back she was afraid of being left alone "Don't worry you won't be alone, I have two very nice friends who will take care of you"
As such Thor whistled and not long after two beings came into the room. One was a Poro that was nice and fluffy with cool looking blue patterns and a black star on his forehead. The other was a creature that seemed incredibly unique as it had orange fur with red and blue fur on its ears and on the tip of its tail. "The poro is named Sigrid. He is very kind and protective and the other creature is named Gnar who is very nice as well and strong. These two will protect and keep you company alright?"
The girl was practically brimming with excitement seeing very cute and cuddly creatures so she nodded like crazy. Thor nodded before walking over and crouching before Sigrid and Gnar. "Keep her safe ok and no scarring her" Thor said as the last part was very much more directed at the little mischief that is Gnar. They both nodded quickly as Sigrid was particularly zealous looking as he pulled up a paw in an incredible feat of flexibility that shouldn't be possible for him and saluted with a paw to his forehead.
Thor smiled and rubbed both of their heads before he went to the girl and comforted her with some nice words and a head pat. Before leaving he left his food sack that kept enough food and rations to last a month as he headed off toward the only place that the Noxians could be. The Delverhold Fort.
