“Gage really loves that electric grill.”
Flynn was grateful for the change in the topic of conversation. “He does, doesn’t he?”
“Sometimes, I think he’s obsessed with it,” Calian said, and he looked rather amused. “The three of us have spent most of our dates out here on the terrace, and Gage would always rush to the electric grill as if they were long-lost lovers. If Gage wasn’t such a touchy-feely person with me, I would have been much more jealous of that damn electric grill.”
Flynn laughed. “I’m in the same boat as you.”
“You’re much worse than me,” Calian corrected. “You may be calm and collected on the surface, and you show your feelings through your actions instead of words, but you can’t hide your possessive nature from me. I’ve been alive for many years, and I’ve seen many things, including all sorts of people. I can’t deny that you’re good in suppressing your feelings, but your eyes betray you.”
“Do they?”
“You can fool most people, but not me,” Calian replied.
