“It’s just like one of those cozy old country house mysteries, isn’t it?” I summarized the facts. “We’re all locked in together, we’ve got murder victims but no murder weapons, no one is quite what they claim…and everyone is a suspect. How do we start to unravel all that?”
“It can’t be that hard,” Katie pointed out. “After all, we know the murderer isn’t you or me—and obviously it isn’t either of the victims—so that only leaves four people to choose from.”
“That’s right,” I agreed. “I guess it has to be Zuzana, Belinda, Gerda, or Raven. But which one?”
Katie looked thoughtful. “Zuzana is the most obvious suspect, since it was her chain that was found on Serena’s body. And the neck wound ties in with her vampire image, even if it was made with a knife rather than fangs.”
“And her motive would be…?” I prompted.
