“I’ll kill him,” Lillian screamed. “Bastard, no-good, little…”

Dustin didn’t wait to hear the fallout. He was already out the door and running for the desk. “Help,” he gasped at the wide-eyed nurse still gripping a phone to her cheek. “Lillian Anderson’s room. Paige needs some help.”

Every nerve in his body was jumping, the scar on his abdomen pulsed with phantom pain. The nurse began punching buttons before she even disconnected the call.
