Bab 64: Elemental Magic

The Hogwart's Library only contained the basics of elemental magic, barely a starting point for Matthew how to proceed with learning this advanced type of Magic. Thanks to Sarah's analytical abilities his Database contained and combined a wide range of information about different kinds of topics, and filled the blanks by combining the pieces of information contained in different sources.

But in the end, he would need to explore this kind of magic himself, it shouldn't be too hard since even Dumbledore and Voldemort managed to learn elemental magic without an AI Chip. Matthew felt with his now enhanced and efficient mind he shouldn't be behind Wizards like them, even without the AI Chip, with it he was definitely surpassing them.

What his database gathered about Elemental Magic was that the elements can be split into five basic elements which are fire, water, air, earth, and thunder. These elements with enough mastery over them can be combined into basically any other element which is called composition elements. Based on the ratio between two or even more elements a wizard was able to control forces like ice, metal, lava, and much more.

But composition elements were something that was only deduced by the AI Chip during its analysis of the gathered knowledge in the database. Sarah concluded that it should be possible to manipulate composition elements based on the spell models of spells like the freezing charm 'Glacius' which was a simple spell based on water and wind elements, or a spell-like the hairdryer charm which was used by many wizards every day was based on basic manipulation of elements like wind and fire. The existence of these charms was what proved the existence of composition elements in Elemental Magic for Matthew and the AI, at least theoretical. They were never shown on the level of level four mastery like during the duel of Voldemort and Dumbledore.

The starting point for elemental magic was mastering a wide range of elemental spells of a specific element to at least level three. But this was much harder than it sounded, after all, there was a reason why not many wizards used even just elemental spells during duels, there weren't many of them. Even in the whole Hogwarts Library there could be very few found. By far from enough to bypass the boundary between a third level mastery of a 'school' of magic and their fourth level.

Matthew decided he would begin his journey into mastering elemental magic with the element of fire. The most popular element for any magic-user in any work of fiction containing magic. It was also an element with a wide range of offensive uses and a very powerful one. Although it was basically the most popular element, here Matthew found already out why there weren't many users of elemental magic. There was only a limited amount of fire Spells found in the Hogwarts Library.

He only found only six spells based on fire in the whole library, although there were many theoretical explanations like Floo Powder or the importance of fire during Potion brewing, his choices in actual charms were very limited.

The first one was the Bluebell Spell which conjured unique cold flames of blue color, which had unique magical properties. It was mainly used during potion making or if a Wizard needed fire without causing burns. Next was the burning charm with the incantation 'Flagrate', it was conjured weak flames to mark objects with scorching marks.

Thirdly was the fire-making spell 'Incendio' the most likely widest known fire spell in the whole Harry Potter Universe. It had many variations but its main use was to conjure flames. Then came the Sparks Spell every first year, it was a spell that allowed the Wizard to conjure colored sparks.

The last two Spells were located in the restriction of the Library, there was the Flagrante Curse with the same incantation as the name, it shouldn't be confused with the burning charm which had a similar incantation. Its purpose was to heat an object to a high temperature.

And lastly was the darkest spell of all of them, the Fiendfyre Curse. It really was a wonder to Matthew that the Spell was accessible in the restricted Section. This was by far one of the most dangerous Spells a Wizard could learn, since if he was unable to control the cursed Flames he would be devoured by them himself.

But six Charms were far from enough to master the fire element, after all, Matthew already mastered five of them to the third level. Only Fiendfyre he didn't dare the even try out because compared to it the others were parlor tricks. The gap in difficulty between them was broad.

For Matthew, the lack of Spells was no trouble, after all, he had the advantage of the AI Chip. With the help of Sarah, he began to design different kinds of fire-based Spells which he would begin to master in the next weeks. He also started to practice the different fire Spells he gained in the Library in different variations. He also learned another fire-based Spell he knew from the Movies, 'Protego Diabolica' basically the signature Spell of Grindlewald. It wasn't that hard to learn it since he knew the effect and the incantation, and unlike Fiendfyre it wasn't uncontrollable and only burned specific targets.

The Spells he created over the next few weeks with Sarah assistance were:

[Beep! The spell creation Process is finished! Spell Model successfully created. Name: Fireball, Incantation: Ignila, Range: Mid-Long, Magical Energy Cost:3.6 Units, Description: A classic Spell from any RPG. The Fireball Spell shots a Volleyball-sized ball of fire at the target and burns it on contact.]

[Beep! The spell creation Process is finished! Spell Model successfully created. Name: Cursed Fireball, Incantation: Ignila Diabolica, Range: Mid-Long, Magical Energy Cost:6.3 Units, Description: Like the Fireball Spell, it shoots a Volleyball sized ball of flames onto the target. But these flames are black in color and much harder to extinguish and also hotter.]

[Beep! The spell creation Process is finished! Spell Model successfully created. Name: Searing Chains, Incantation: Ignis Vincula, Range: Mid, Magical Energy Cost:4.1 Units, Description: A variation of the Chain Spells, unlike the original these ones aren't cursed but they are instead made of fire and bind the target while at the same time burning them.]

[Beep! The spell creation Process is finished! Spell Model successfully created. Name: Flame Whip, Incantation: Ignellum, Range: Short-Mid, Magical Energy Cost:3.9 Units, Description: Conjures a Whip made of flames which can be used to his the target or bind them.]

Matthew was already happy with the first few Spells he created, but they weren't enough to reach level four in fire magic yet. But they were a good start. And in the end, he needed to master them first. But in the middle of November, he got interrupted by a notice on the Notification board in the Common Room.

'So next weekend we will visit Hogsmeade for the first time!' thought Matthew happily while reading the notice with his friends.

Next weekend would the third-year students the Village of Hogsmeade for the first time. All they needed was the Permission form signed by their Guardians to participate in the Visit. They had almost the whole day to visit the Village and could choose themselves when and how long they would visit. They only needed to return before Dinner.
