Bab 1857: Dropping the Bomb

The next day, just as everyone expected, the Yamen officers came to the village after they had collected the evidence. When the villagers saw the Yamen officers, they all sighed with emotion. Really, what a sin. In the past, their village hardly saw a guard patrolling the area but now—because of some people—Yamen officers come to their village almost every second month! 

It was really embarrassing. 

The arrival of the Yamen officers basically confirmed that someone had betrayed their village and it left a sour taste in the mouths of the villagers. Because they were wise enough to understand that the days of peace were finally over. 

What was going to follow was endless trouble! 

"Tsk, who is this evil-hearted person? Why did they do such a thing? Now it is good; our village is in danger." Some of the villagers were really disgusted by this traitor.
