Bab 1273: No one left

Silence fell over the entire courtyard. Everyone in the Gu family knew that Lin Jing was a mer who excelled in elegance and was one of the few mers who was educated. He hardly ever raised his voice and was gentle to the bones even when his son was married off against his will, at most he said some harsh things to Gu Zedong but he never raised his hand. 

Thus, it wouldn't be wrong to say that the shock Gu Zedong felt at the moment was something that she couldn't even express in words. She covered her cheek that was slapped and looked at Lin Jing as if she was about to implode. 

"Lin Jing, what is the meaning of this? Did you slap your wife?" Gu Zedong asked. Even though she would have loved to scream, she didn't want to raise her voice at Lin Jing as she knew that he would only glance at her as if he was looking at a fool.
