Hiroki sulked in his seat as he watched the heavy rain outside. Seemed like he wasn't going to go outside to play anytime soon. Not that any of his friends would be at the park they usually meet up given that the weather wasn't on their side. Still, Hiroki wished he could go out now.
He had not been able to play with you or train Jujutsu for nearly a week, Nanami was on an oversea business trip and you were working more shifts again. He knew you were having it rough and that's how an idea suddenly sparked.
"I'm going to surprise Mom at work!" He exclaimed and hopped out of his chair, then sprinted towards the kitchen.
Hiroki opened the small drawer where you put snacks, in fact, that was the only locker you leave unlocked so that little Hiroki could have some snacks to relieve his hunger when you came home late. Every other drawer where you put condiments, utensils, and other kitchen necessities was locked as you didn't want any accident.
Hiroki grabbed a few of his favorite mochi and sweets and put them into a cute lunch box you bought for him before putting on a raincoat and leaving the house.
He thought he was familiar with the directions to your workplace even though he had been there only four or five times.
"Turn right at the end of the road... Turn right at the end of the road.." He muttered as he walked. But then, he tripped on a small stone and fell. As he didn't activate Limitless in time, his left palm was bruised from the impact.
It didn't matter much, but what mattered was his attention was drawn to his left palm and he started muttering, "Turn left at the end of the road...Turn left at the end of the road.."
Hiroki continued walking and made a left turn
Instead of his mother's workplace, was waiting for him was a suspicious looking building.
Seeing an unfamiliar building instead, Hiroki was a bit scared.
"Hey kid, you alone?"
Hiroki heard a stranger's voice and when he looked up, he saw a man with long black hair partially tied into a bun, wearing Buddhist monk robes. The man was tall and the way he carried himself made Hiroki a bit uncomfortable.
"It's okay, you don't need to be scared. You're Satoru's kid, aren't you?" The man said with a light chuckle. "You even got Six Eyes and all. I'm surprised Satoru hid you."
"Who are you? And you know my dad?" Hiroki asked, his Six Eyes seemingly piercing into the man's soul. The man let out a bitter laugh at that.
"Name's Geto Suguru. Your dad's bestfriend." The man said with a smile, the bitter laugh nowhere to be seen, not even a trace is left. "What's your name, kid?"
"L/n Hiroki.."
"Not Gojo?" The man seemed to be genuinely surprised.
"Dad doesn't even live with us..Actually, I haven't even seen him or heard his name. Not until now." Hiroki said, looking at the ground.
"Man, that is messed up." The man muttered. "Come on, let's get you home. You shouldn't wander alone like this."
"Gojo Satoru..that's his name, right?" Hiroki tried to say his supposed to be father's name for the first time, it was rather strange. He wondered if he would ever get used to it. "Can you tell me about him?"
When he didn't know anything about his dad, he didn't have much expectations or feel any real need to get to know him, not when he had Nanami and mom.
But, it was a different feeling now, he wanted to know more about his dad and why he couldn't stay with mom and him.
"Sure, let's talk on your way home." The man replied.
"But, I was going to surprise mom by bringing her favorite snacks.." Hiroki said.
"Well, you can do it when she gets home, Hiroki. You being outside alone is dangerous, okay? Let me bring you home."
"Okay.."
-----------------
Geto Suguru had just finished another meeting. He didn't expect to see a kid wandering around the building like this, given the shady apperance it had. What he didn't expect to see even more was a white haired kid with Six Eyes.
Satoru's child..
That was the only possibility he could think of and the only way it is possible.
As soon as the thought flashed through his mind, he walked up to the kid and striked a conversation.
The kid seemed to be wary of him at first, his blue eyes piercing into his soul as he talked. Suguru let out a bitter laugh as he was reminded of Satoru.
Suguru then mentioned that he was Satoru's bestfriend. He liked to think he still is. Despite going separate ways, Suguru himself also never stopped considering Satoru as his bestfriend, after all.
After mentioning that he was Satoru's bestfriend, the kid pretty much opened up. Suguru was surprised that the kid didn't take Satoru's family name.
Turned out the kid had never even seen Satoru, which was messed up. He didn't even know Satoru's name. Suguru didn't know how to react to the information.
Satoru was clearly not in the picture. It couldn't be that Satoru didn't acknowledge the kid because the kid had Six Eyes, which would make him a target if his existence was found out. He knew Satoru better than anyone else, Satoru wouldn't do that.
Satoru probably doesn't even know about having a kid with Six Eyes.
Suguru concluded.
The kid wanted to know more about Satoru, Suguru could agree on that. But, first, the kid should be out of any curse user's sight.
Suguru suggested to walk him home and talk on the way. That way, he would know the kid's address and could keep an eye on him.
