Whatever Anne Sabine was doing was not my problem. When I bumped into the stable boy in the hall, I tried to play dumb. The last thing I wanted was to meddle in other people's business. Much less from someone from such a powerful family.

Poor young man, he got very nervous when he saw me.

That had been a long day, I had accompanied Nadia during the morning and afternoon, I even accompanied her to knit with Lady Julia and her daughter Lady Isobel.

"You need new clothes," Lady Julia told me. "Tomorrow I will send a trunk with new dresses that I think will flatter your figure."

I thanked Lady Soto from the bottom of my heart. I like her style, after all, she was the one who dressed my little sister, and Nadia always looked great in her dresses.

It was already night and I fell exhausted on the bed.
