Bab 36: Chapter 36

"My King..." A scared man peeked around the black, stone door into the throne room where Korva normally sat at this time of day. The huge room looked empty, and he considered returning to the guards' station without telling his king the news. He slowly rounded the corner in the servants' hallway, mindlessly crumpling the roll of paper in his hand. He had a sinking feeling in his gut that he had picked the short straw this morning.

"King Korva?" His voice shook as he leaned into the king's bedroom, but the red velvet bed covers were undisturbed, still tucked in from the maid's rounds. He closed the door as carefully as he could, and only one other place came to mind as to where his king might be.
