Bab 72: Stories.
<ZOO KEEPERS HIDEOUT>
The Day had broken, and yet everything still seemed dark in the room where the Zoo Keepers had their meetings.
"Do we all have to meet again over Rider and Sony's problem? We just finished one overnight, and now we are having another... Tch" The guy wearing the mask of an Orang-utan said, he sounded pissed as he always did, he walked towards his seat, standing with the rest of them.
"Horse, we are all here," Zero said, turning his back to take a look at the screen, smiling as he did.
"You may all sit,"
They all sat the moment they heard that, and One of them placed his head on the table to sleep.
"Ryder, how about you give us a report about the incident?" The voice spoke from the screen before Zero could even talk, and he knew he had no choice but to keep shut since their boss was already addressing it.
"Why not me?" Sony said, he rested on the seat, knowing it wasn't right for him to do so.
Zero was the only person who had the right to take off his mask, he smiled as he looked at Sony. "Hey dumb ass, may you do the rightful thing? Or do you want to get it from Boss?"
"Ohh sorry, my bad..." Sony sat up straight, he was still the newest to join the crew amongst them so he was always joking around.
"So Ryder, you may begin,"
"Okay Boss," Ryder said, preparing to talk. "When we got to the countryside, we found out that the government officials were leaving the scene through another route, so we went forward and began to look for M.D who we saw was already flying in the air. We ran towards him, and Sony jumped up into the air to give Denzel a very heavy..."
Ryder kept on talking, and everyone in the room's mood was beginning to change.
Ryder didn't notice because of the mask they had on, he kept on talking, giving a long story that was uncalled for, and at some point, The Orang-utan masked guy began to nod his head as if he dozed off.
When the Orang-utan masked guy woke up, he turned to look at Ryder in confusion, "Ryder, keep it shut, please! Zero, why did you even tell him to report? Dude is just pointless, can't Sony do it?"
Ryder stopped talking, he was trying to understand what exactly he had done wrong, he had a gullible attitude that no one seemed to understand.
"Oscar, I understand your pain, and I would also want to stretch it out to you that it was Horse that asked him to, so I have no right to stop him... So, Ryder, you may continue with your story-- rather, report," Zero said to the Orang-utan masked guy, Oscar.
Zero was also tired of the sermon Ryder was giving, but he had no right to argue with their boss, who they didn't even actually know.
"So... As I was saying earlier, I and Sony then walked towards the place M.D fell to when I knocked him off the car in my Rhinocero--"
"Why is Ryder still dictating this out to us? I expected Sony to have taken over all this while," The voice said from the screen, interrupting Ryder as he spoke, and immediately, Ryder kept shut, still not knowing what he did wrong.
There was a slight giggle heard in the room, and it was from the guy that wore the mask of an elephant.
"Ryder, no wonder you can't find a girlfriend, I always wondered why," Sony said, smiling from his end.
"What has that gotten to do with the report? I was told to shut it for whatsoever reason I don't even understand, and Boss is probably expecting you to have given us the report that I was almost done with..."
"Are you angry? Hmph! I don't understand how you don't even discern a single thing," Sony said replying to Ryder.
"Sony, that's not what Horse asked you to do, we are all waiting for your report," The one wearing the mask of an antelope said.
"Y'all boring people... Answering Horse's question, we were not able to capture M.D, he is not a tough opponent if you were to ask, but I would say he has a very good skill running away, it would be the same for his Beast, they don't seem to have synchronised. We should be able to get him next time," Sony said, he placed both hands at the back of his head the moment he was done talking as he always did.
"Ryder I hoped you have learned one or two things from what he said," Zero said smiling, it was a habit for him, even in tough moments or when he was yelling, he was always calm, smiling each time.
"What's there to learn? I don't think there is much difference in our reports, he only concluded what I was saying," Ryder said, keeping a straight face as he spoke, but no one could notice, anyone that heard him speak would think he was pissed.
Sony shook his head when Ryder said that, "Damn," he murmured to himself.
"You know what, y'all should shut the fuck and focus on this meeting, I have no time to waste on any argument here," Oscar yelled once more, and everyone kept it silent. That impressed Zero.
"That was one of the things you have said that has a point, it was cool, Oscar... Boss, that's all about their report, we are ready for your orders," Zero turned his back to take a look at the screen the moment he was done talking.
"Nothing much... Ryder and Sony are to go get them again, and both of you must do whatever it takes to find him, get him unconscious and bring him here. Ryder, you are meant to be putting Sony through, but it seems to be going the other way out, let's end the meeting here, you all can leave," The voice from the screen said, and the light in it went off, followed by the dim lights that shone above each of them in there.
"Ryder, don't be pissed, let's just get M.D so you won't have to worry about all these, you get it Huh?" Sony stood, waiting for Ryder to get up and walked out of the room.
"Do I look pissed to you? I only just feel like I did nothing wrong,"
"Your mask always makes you look pissed you know,"
"I don't understand what you mean," Ryder stood from his seat, walking out of the room, and Sony followed him behind.
"You are a tough one, you know," Sony sighed the moment he was done talking.
