Bab 253: Throwing a net (3)

I still don't know what the Queen Grandmother wants. Other than putting us in a difficult position, as a change. She came forward and told us not to change the law, not to reduce taxes.

But I don't understand: why does she care? Her family is part of Alba, so maybe that is why. I think two or three of her cousins are in the Church. Does she use the Church as a way to embezzle by donating part of her riches to them? Does she use it as a way to bribe the Cardinals?

I didn't even know she was involved. From what I've witnessed so far, no one from the Royal Family has close relationships with the people of the Church. Most of us don't even like them.

It's hilarious, but I must be the closest one! I would have expected them to say I'm too involved and shouldn't believe the Cardinals, or that I'm trying to take advantage of the King and bring value to the Church.
