Bab 10: Chapter 10- Third Phase of Hunter's Exam - Majority Rule
First thing Sachiko did after arriving at Hiroshima was buying a new phone. She could've bought one in Tokyo but she rushed coming here. Well, there was no use regretting. Sachiko got the latest iphone and then started to find a place to stay. She would go back after the time is up but she would return here a week later so she felt the need to find a place.
After setting up internet, Sachiko browsed places for rent on the internet. She decided to rent a fully furnished, one bedroom apartment. But the process itself would take some time so she finished the processes she could and then she would continue the rest when she came back. As she still didn't have a place, she had to stay at a hotel again.
This time, Sachiko made sure to rest. Since she came to this world, all she did was training and she hadn't even enjoyed anything yet. Sachiko felt like that was unacceptable. So, after taking another nap, she went to a nice ramen restaurant.
She ordered a Tonkotsu ramen with extra sliced pork, green onions and gyoza. Then, she ate a strawberry mochi for dessert.
Sachiko was in a good mood after eating a delicious lunch. She went back to the hotel and trained a lot more. As usual, she stopped her training when she was about to run out of cursed energy.
She then lied on her bed and watched some TV until it was time to go back.

Sachiko stretched her body as she got up. She had just got back from jujutsu kaisen world. First thing she did was checking the time. Only after seeing it was 6:00 a.m, she could sigh in relief.
'It's really like I never left.' Sachiko thought. She headed to the dining hall for some breakfast after chaging into the outfit she was wearing for hunter's exam. She also took off the bandages around her left eye and replaced it with a black eyepatch.
When she ran into Killua at the dining hall, Killua said, "I see, you've turned into an eyepatch lady."
"What the heck do you mean by eyepatch lady!?" Sachiko whined. It was like calling Gojo Satoru blindfold guy or paintbrush head guy.
"You're wearing an eyepatch, eyepatch lady!" Killua said, sticking out his tongue.
"I have a name!" Sachiko told him but Killua wholeheartedly dismissed it. He had already decided he would only call her by that name from now on.
Leorio and Kurapika arrived at the dining hall soon after and joined them at the table.
"Where's Gon?" Sachiko asked.
"I thought he was with Killua." Kurapika replied.
"He's probably with that old man, Netero." Killua said quietly. Thinking about that old man makes him want to kill someone.
"Huh?" Kurapika and Leorio looked at Killua, puzzled and waited for an explanation which didn't follow.
At 8:00 a.m, they arrived at the destination. They stood at the top of the tower as they awaited instructions.
"Welcome to third phase of hunter's exam. To pass this phase, you must get to the base of the trick tower alive within 72 hours." Bean announced.
"Still the same as canon. Not bad." Sachiko muttered.
"Hey, eyepatch lady, do you have any idea on how to get to the base?" Killua asked.
"I told you not to call me that!" Sachiko yelled.
"Sucks that didn't work." Killua said with a grin.
"God, you're learning from me, skateboard kiddo!" Sachiko decided to counterattack by giving Killua a nickname.
"Don't call me that, eyepatch lady!!" Killua yelled, he hated that kiddo part.
"Aww, you hate that you get called a kiddo? How cute!!" Sachiko said as she rubbed his white head.
"Don't..call..me that!" Killua was so angry that he wanted to kill that eyepatch lady. Sachiko was dying from laughing.
"Oh!" Gon exclaimed, "Killua! Nakamura san! Kurapika! Leorio!"
"Oops, Gon's calling us, later" Sachiko said with a giggle, "Skateboard kiddo."
Killua had never thought self-control would be this hard.
They walked to where Gon was and Gon told them about the five trapdoors he found.
"I see the only way we get to the base is to by turning over these doors," Kurapika said.
"Good job, Gon!" Sachiko gave him a thumbs up.
Gon smiled sheepishly before continuning, "But I'm kinda confused. There are five doors but each door can only be used by one person once."
"I see," Kurapika started to think , "Five hidden doors located in the same area, it could end up with some of them being a trap."
"Well, it's not something we could help." Killua said.
"Yeah, so let's just pick a door each since we are exactly five people. And if some of them being a trap, no hard feelings, okay?" Gon said.
"Fine by me." Kurapika replied.
"Me too." Killua agreed.
"Reasonable." Leorio said.
"That works." Sachiko shrugged.
"Alright , see you at the base!" Gon said as he turned the trapdoor over and fell into the building.
Sachiko giggled as she knew they would probably end up in the same room.
"Huh?"
"Eh?"
Gon and Killua looked at each other and blinked in confusion.
"God, that's the most short-lived farewell I've ever seen!!" Sachiko said excitedly.
"What exactly are you getting excited for?" Gon asked, confused.
"Oh, nothing. I just think we're going to have so much fun! Right, skateboard kiddo?"
"Yeah, whatever, eyepatch lady." Killua said with an eye roll.
"Look, there're wrist timers." Kurapika said, walking towards the table in the middle of the room.
Then, on the TV, there was a sentence, "The five who dropped into this chamber must find their way down together by consensus of the majority." Gon read that out loud.
Everyone started picking up a wrist timer and wore it on their wrists.
"Hm, there are two buttons, X and O. Seems we really have to vote, huh?" Sachiko said.
"At least we know each other. If there was a complete stranger, we could get sabotaged." Leorio said.
"Bold of you to think I won't pull any pranks!" Sachiko said in an upbeat tone.
"We're in hunter's exam. Act mature!" Leorio shouted.
"Mature? What's that? Never heard of it." Sachiko blinked.
"Here we go again." Killua sighed.
"Hey, there's a door!" Gon pointed to one side of the wall.
"At this door, select O to open, X not to open," Gon read that out loud.
"Well, then." Everyone started clicking a button.
The results showed, "4 O, 1 X".
Leorio started to lose it, "Hey Nakamura Sachiko, can you be serious and not sabotage us!?"
"Geez, relax. It was obvious four of you will choose O. Why would what I choose matter?" Sachiko asked with a frown.
"Still, how can we be a team if you keep sabotaging us?!" Leorio didn't stop, he even started to pick her up by the jacket.
"Let go of my jacket." Sachiko said.
"Leorio, stop it. It's fine." Kurapika finally said. "We don't have time to argue."
"Fine." Leorio let go of her and then started to walk out of the door.
As soon as they got out of the room, they found another question , "Which way do you want to go, O for right, X for left."
"3 O, 2 X."
"Why would you even choose right? Everyone knows you go left!" Leorio asked.
"That's what research shows. If they expect us to choose left, we will have to go right." Kurapika replied.
"Or they would expect us to choose the opposite so they put harder challenge in right." Sachiko said, "I chose right, of course. That should be fun."
"Great, eyepatch lady is sabotaging us." Killua said.
"Hey, I'm just making it more fun! Besides, didn't you want this exam more challenging?" Sachiko asked.
"Of course."
"Then, you should thank me for my efforts." Sachiko said proudly.
"Yeah, no thanks." Killua rolled his eyes.
They walked into the right direction as the door opened to the right. Soon, they ended up at a deadend, with a platform in the middle of the a huge pit.
On the other side of the pit was several hand-cuffed prisoners.
"The applicants are here, unlock my handcuffs."
The handcuffs fell onto the floor and the prisoner removed the hood on his head.
"Well, then let's get down to business." The prisoner said.
Then, a video played on the TV explaining they have to defeat the prisoners to get past here. Since there was a majority rule for them, they have to win at least three matches out of five.
"Since we have to get to the base within the time limit and their goal is to buy time , let's remember that time is of essence." Kurapika said.
"Something I agree on. I really wanna be the first one to reach the base. That would be so cool, no?" Sachiko brought right hand to her chin, imitating the thoughtful gesture Kurapika was making.
"Well, then who's gonna be the first one?" The prisoner asked.
"We don't know what they are up to, there's just too much at stake." Kurapika said with a sigh.
"Then, I will go." Gon said.
"Huh?" Leorio was surprised.
"Hm, okay then." Sachiko said. "I will go at the second or third round."
'Letting Kurapika fight the fake Phantom Troupe member isn't gonna end well. Isn't that how Leorio ended up gambling with time?' Sachiko thought. She didn't like the idea of making it to the base just before the deadline.
"Alright," The four agreed.
Gon stepped out. The first prisoner brought two candles.
"I have two candles, the tall one and the shorter one. We will light a candle each and the first candle to blow out loses."
"Fine by me." Gon replied.
"Now, which candle do you choose. O for the tall one, X for the short one." The prisoner said.
"Well, I don't think it matters. He could've tempered one of them or maybe both of them. Or he could just have another trick up their sleeve." Sachiko shrugged. "I'm voting whatever you vote this time."
"Then, Gon, which one do you want to choose?" Kurapika asked Gon.
Gon thought for a while before replying, "I will choose the tall one!"
They ended up voting for the tall candle. Gon and the prisoner lit the candles at the same time. Soon, Gon noticed something was wrong with his candle.
"That's a dirty trick!" Leorio shouted.
"There's no such thing as dirty tricks in battle." The prisoner laughed like a maniac.
"I see, well, the flames of my candle has become so strong so it's not gonna get blown out by a simple breeze." Gon said, before he put the candle down and charged towards the prisoner, blowing the candle out.

"Yes! Gon did it!" Leorio cheered.
"Good job, Gon!" Sachiko smiled. "Now, who's next?" She asked the prisoners.
"You have to choose who will fight on your side first." The prisoners replied.
'Is there such a rule? Man, I won't know when the fake phantom troupe member will fight. If Kurapika faces him and Leorio enters the time bet, I'm gonna be stuck here for 50 hours.' Sachiko thought , getting impatient.
"I will go." Kurapika said. Sachiko wanted to stop him but she didn't even know if the fake member would be there.
