Two weeks later…..
Zara was walking normally now and started to enjoy being in the gym. She pulled on her gym clothes and headed downstairs, hearing Michael clanking weights. Rolling her eyes, she should have known. It was where she could always find him.
She had been learning sign language from the start and Michael had taken it upon himself to learn also so they could communicate better. He thought if Zara never got her speech back; he wanted to at least be able to communicate beyond the notes and grunts. She was able to get out short words, but not much else.
Going downstairs, she heard a rock ballad song playing that triggered her memory and ran down stairs signing to Michael.
"Babe, slow down. I can't read your signs that fast. I'm learning but, dang."
"Okay, I'll slow down," she motioned.
She tried to remember the signs, but she was too excited. Annoyed, she just ran over to his big dry erase board on the wall.
