The house was quiet when Leo returned. Gently, he wheeled his way to the elevator doors, Martino following right behind him. To assist him.

If Leo was to rank all the depressing things that have happened to him, being paralyzed would take the cake. 

Paralyzed. Injured. Confined to a wheelchair. There were just fancy ways to describe how useless he had become, always needing help from others. Even the formidable authority of the mafia king was now meaningless, as useless as his legs were. 

Martino moved in front of him to push the elevator button but froze when he heard footsteps approaching them then Fernanda's voice echoed in from a distance, calling out Leo's name.

Leo steered around to face his grandmother as she neared.

" Leo, where have you been? The workers said it had been hours since you left." Fernanda said, coming closer.
