The sun was already setting by the time William got a proper bearing on his apparent new status and the situation he found himself in; seeing the sunset through both windows of his room. He had asked as many questions as he could and with each one, Laura's concern only deepened.
''So to summarize things, my father is a marquess, we are currently in Landow which is located in the kingdom of Kellor and this whole place is on a world called Pandora."
William said these words while in a daze, barely registering them himself, only Laura's confirmation after he finished speaking drew him back to his senses.
"Alright calm down William, deep breaths, someone is obviously trying to pull a "transmigrated into another world" type of prank and a bloody well planned one at that, not to mention that they were willing to beat the shit out of me to pull it off. I bet I got my head bashed in when they tried to abduct me; I probably struggled very hard against them for them to resort to this much violence, but no matter, this is IT, this is the moment of truth. I need to know if I am a prisoner or not."
William thought to himself nervously, about to make the request that will determine whether he is knee-deep in shit or if he is drowning in it.
''I would like to go outside to breathe in some fresh air, I have been here for… by the way how long have I been unconscious for?'' William asked, realizing that he forgot to ask such a basic question.
''It has been two days since the accident and you have been unconscious ever since, as for your request, I believe that you are in no condition to go outside at the moment, you need rest to recuperate as quickly as possible.''
Answered Laura as she once more tried to exit the room and go inform the marquess about his son's condition.
Noticing her attempted ''exit" William immediately added in a loud voice.
''No!!! I don't care about my condition, you yourself said that I did not suffer from any broken bones and though this damn headache is killing me, I can handle a quick trip outside and I will not take a no for an answer.''
He fixed her with a glare that said you're going to take me outside and you're going to do it with a smile damn it.
Laura found herself stuck in a difficult predicament, on one hand, if she complies and takes the young lord and his health deteriorates she will be In big trouble, on the other hand, she could not say no to him either; so after giving it some thought she decided to compromise.
''My lord, I still can't take you outside while you are still in such a precarious condition, but I believe the balcony can give you exactly what you want, not to mention that it has a very nice view over the city's landscape.''
Finding himself with no choice but to agree to the compromise, Laura quickly helped William out of his bed and toward the room next to his, in which there was a large balcony.
"Oh my god it's worst, the pain is way worst, this was a calculated risk, A CALCULATED RISK, I regret nothing." William immediately screamed in his mind and almost regretted his decision as the pain flared up once more across his body.
"No no no, suck it up man, I need to know where the hell am i."
What William saw when they reached the balcony, could only be described as a medieval-type city like in the movies and series he would watch from time to time.
From His position, which he assumes is the castle, like he was told, a vast expanse of buildings met his eyes, few of which were more than three stories high.
He could also observe two....; no scratch that, he could see three rivers whose surfaces were sparkling due to the setting sun in a display of pure beauty, converge into one.
Two of which bordered the city from his left and right before meeting further away, in what he can only assume as one hell of a strategic position that the city was founded upon.
Yet what scared him was that this city shouldn't exist, there are no such cities on earth anymore, at least as far as he knew.
From the large central road going through the city, he was able to spot many carriages moving around on stone-paved roads, yet not a single asphalt road or vehicle was in sight, not cell towers, no high rises, this was too clean.
The more he saw, the more the realization crept through that maybe, just maybe, this weird prank or dream or whatever it is has just turned into a nightmare.
Soon he felt his legs buckle under his weight as he fell on the ground in a daze, for as much as the view was mesmerizing, it was even more terrifying to him.
As the possible implications started to pop up in his mind relentlessly, the sensation of weakness kept flooding the rest of his body that he now realized far too late was smaller than he remembered, giving him another slap the almost knocked him out.
Laura, after seeing him suddenly fall to the ground, panicked and quickly helped him stand up once more, but he seem to have lost all strength in his limbs; mistaking this as a sign that he was in a much weaker state than he had led her to believe, making he regret her decision of partially agreeing to his request.
'' Young lord I think it is time you go back to bed, you obviously need rest, it's getting cold out here so let us go back inside, I will go ask the kitchen staff to prepare you something warm to eat''.
William was slowly ''dragged'' to his bed while still in a daze trying to process everything he had seen and heard, shocked, scared, and ever so slightly intrigued.
Soon a warm bowl of what he assume was vegetable soup with some bread and butter on the side was presented in front of his bed on a small table.
'' My lord, now that you are awake, I must inform your father of the good news so that he may come and see for himself how you're doing, so if you will excuse me, I shall not leave for long''. Said Laura for the third time while moving towards the exit door.
By this time William had finally snapped out of his reveries and immediately said.
'' No need, I feel really tired and just want to finish my food and go to sleep, tell my father that I woke up, that I am fine and that soon after I went back to sleep''. Even though William was in no mood to eat, he felt extremely hungry and genuinely tired, mentally and physically.
He was in no mood to meet this supposed father of his that was also a noble. He needed time, time to think, and time to rest.
Laura agreed to his request and after he finished his meal she took the empty dishes, wished him a good night and left.
William on the other hand found himself on his bed alone, thinking while staring at the ceiling. Despite his fatigue, sleep still eluded him for some time until his chaotic mind could no longer resist the protests of his body.
Until the last moment, before he was plunged into the dark embrace of slumber, all he could hope for was that tomorrow, he would wake up and this would be all but a strange dream.
