While Jonathan’s attention bounces between the menu in his hands and the blueprints on the table, Lucas is torn between administering animal affection and his own menu. The prospect of tasty noms eventually wins—but only because he can continue petting as a free action.

‘Woah, that’s a lotta coffee options. Hey, waitaminute…’

“Ay, kiddo. Ya already had coffee today; don’t go orderin’ any,” Lucas says without shifting his gaze.

Jonathan flinches and answers with a sulky, “O-okay…”

‘He was totally gonna, wasn’t he?’

[Seems like it.]

‘Huh, mostly drinks and snacks. Why get a borin’ sammich when there are pastries? Lessee…’

[With all the confectionary goods you have at home, you shouldn’t—]

‘Ooh, they have strawberry sponge cake! Since Marsha took the whole thing to share with the girlies, I didn’t get any!’

[…Fine.]

Once Alley Cat finishes smoothing out the final blueprint, they look up, noticing that both Lucas and Jonathan have lowered their menus.
