Bab 118: Hijack

The rest of the day passed like a blur of nerves and excitement.

Since Aramis had long since deserted me, my father had hired two more maids to tend to my needs around the clock. They were the ones who alerted him about my behavior.

“My good daughter, what is wrong?” He came to my room as I was trying to decide what dress to wear for the day.

“Wrong? Nothing is wrong father. Nothing but the fact that I CAN’T DECIDE WHAT TO WEAR!”

He blinked in surprise and stumbled over his words before practically fleeing from the room.

Moments later my mom came in with a seamstress.

“What’s the occasion?”

I opened my mouth to say that I had a date with Mu but reconsidered at the last moment “I-I’m going out with Lord Gwyn.” There was an edge of panic in my voice, which I’m sure my mother found interesting because she frowned.

“What is the occasion?” She repeated, her eyes zeroed on my face, and the faint blush on my cheeks. “Did he… Oh, dear!” Her face paled as she stared at me.
