Bab 4: 4-Trying to figure out Cleopatra
Issan walks over and sits down and Drenial clears his throat and says "You see there has been talk about trying to take a hybrid and full blooded Brenos and making them have a baby to thin the blood of the Cravous in the hybrid. Making the child more Brenos than hybrid to try to be able to train it and it having more Brenos blood it won't stand out to much. I worried that she might be a result of that." Issan says "They said that they captured her mother and she was very pregnant." Drenial shakes his head and says "No way they were able to capture her. Females are hard to find let alone capture. There is no way they caught her I'm sorry but there's no way."
Issan just sits there looking at Drenial not knowing what to say it think could it be possible. Marv chimes in "It is possible if she was already in labor Cleopatra is 5 months old. She also has been hurt alot and not only that but she has hurt someone and bad." Issan looks at Marv and asks "How do you know that?" Marv looks at them and says "I can smell it on her and she still has they're skin under her nails." Issan looks at Marv and say "She did Malloy he has one hell of a scar on her face. That wasn't there almost 7 months ago when I saw him bring you a shipment of Brenos. It was still sort of fresh barely starting to heal." Drenial says "Really wow he's been dealing with Brenos his whole life and a little girl gets the best of him." Drenial starts laughing. Cleopatra looks over at them and smiles. Melody looks at Cleopatra and asks "What is it?" Why are you smiling?" Cleopatra looks at Melody and says "Issan just told them what I did to the bad man Malloy. I scratched his face from his eye down to the base of his neck 4 deep marks from my claws." As Cleopatra was telling Melody she shows her by taking her hand to her face and gliding it down. As Cleopatra was showing Melody her nails grew and Melody sat back a little. Cleopatra start to giggle and says "I'm sorry didn't mean to scare you." Melody shakes her head and giggles and says "No just didn't expect it."
Issan and Drenial stop talking and looking over at the girls who were in a fit of giggles and Issan just smiles. Drenial wasn't sure what to feel and he looks at Issan and asks "What are you smiling at?" Issan says "They look like there getting along well." Sakara says "Well of course they are. In looks and in brain they are about the same age maybe not in years but they pretty much are the same age." Issan stands up and starts walking over to the girls. Melody starts to stand and Cleopatra looks up and sees Issan coming over and she stands. She lightly touches Melody and says "It's ok." Cleopatra walks over and Issan just picks her up without asking and holds her close. Cleopatra hugs him back and asks "Issan what is it?" Issan just squeezes Cleopatra tighter the whispers "I'm sorry." Cleopatra just hugs him back not know what to say. Issan sit down right where they were standing. He cradled her down in his lap and says "I need to explain a few things to you about this world and ages and how everything is when you pair up and so on and so forth." Drenial gets up and walks over to them and sits down and says "Cleopatra you have to wait till your old enough before you want to start to get married and have kids you need to grow up first. Can you grow up first before you want to settle for Issan?" Issan looks at Drenial and says "Settle so if she chooses me she's settling. That's real nice of you FATHER to say that." Melody laughs and Cleopatra just shot Drenial a look of irritation. Drenial laughs and says "She agrees with you Issan look at that face she's making." Drenial says laughing even harder. Issan looks at Cleopatra and chuckles and says "I think your right."
Sakara and Bryan both get up and move over to everyone else. Bryan brought over a chair and says "Here mom you shouldn't sit on the floor." He goes to grab another chair and Melody says "Oh come on Bryan you can sit of the floor it's not going to hurt you." Bryan says "It's not for me it for dad." Drenial says "I'm good on the floor thank you though son." Bryan says "Dad you are the Grand High King and" Drenial holds his hand up and says "I don't want to hear anymore I'm fine right where I am so leave the chair at the table that's an order." Cleopatra's face softens and says "Why are you on the floor if you shouldn't be on the floor?" Drenial says "He believes I shouldn't be on the floor being on the floor you get dirty and as royalty you shouldn't get dirty." Cleopatra looks at Issan and struggles to get out of his arms and stand and walks over to the table. Cleopatra grabs a chair and drags it to Issan and says "Issan sit here." Drenial laughs hysterically as does Issan. Cleopatra just stands there and starts getting sad and Melody gets up and yells "ITS NOT FUNNY STOP LAUGHING!!!!" Issan looks at the girls. Issan stops laughing immediately holds out his hands and says "Come here Cleo." Cleopatra looks at Issan and walk to him and he grabs her. Issan pulls Cleopatra close to him and says "No reason to get sad that we laughed. We laughed because it was really cute and precious what you did." Drenial cuts in and says "Also because it goes with what we were talking about." Cleopatra says "About me being the same age but not the same as Melody."
Drenial says "How did you know that." Cleopatra says "I heard you talking." Melody nodes her head and says "She even heard you talking about what she did to Malloy." Drenial looks at Cleopatra and says "How far can you hear? If you don't know it's ok." Cleopatra says "I don't know but I can hear them bang around in the kitchen and I could hear what you were saying when Melody came after me when I left. I can hear the doctor talking to someone about sending a message to Malloy about how I've changed since I've been here with Issan and I'm not the animal I was." Issan tightens his grip on Cleopatra and Marv walks out of the room and Cleopatra goes on saying "The guard over there" as she points to the guards at the door "are talking about how stupid Drenial is for thinking that Cleopatra is anything but full Brenos they can smell it and feel that Cleopatra is full. Also how Issan is insane for keeping me so close and hold Cleopatra as she ate." Cleopatra got a very angry look and growled and roars and makes them cower she stands and yells "I WOULD NEVER HURT ISSAN TAKE IT BACK OR ELSE!!!!!!" She roars and growls again and they cower more. Drenial and Issan stand at the same time. Issan picks Cleopatra up and then fire ripped and roared around the two guards. At that moment Marv walks in with the doctor and the guard that was writing the message to Malloy. Issan quiets the fire and Marv looks at Issan and Drenial they both have the same pissed off look and says "What do you want to do with these 2?" Issan looks at them and says "The guard and the good doctor and the 2 over there I want locked up till I decide what I want to do with all of them."
Cleopatra starts to whimper. Everyone just stood there not knowing why she was whimpering. Then Sakara figures it out and gets up and walks over to Issan and takes Cleopatra from him without thinking and says "Sweet Cleopatra are you sleepy?" As she cradles her Cleopatra nods her head and whimpering. Sakara looks at Issan who has a shocked look on his face and says "Sorry mother instincts kicked in." Issan shook his head and says "No it's fine I thought I scared her again." Issan reaches out for Cleopatra and says "Can I have her back now?" Sakara chuckles and says "Oh yes sorry." As Issan went to grab Cleopatra he noticed she was asleep and he smiles and says "No you hold on to her." Sakara looks down and sees that Cleopatra was sleeping. Issan says "Nothing more soothing than a Mother's touch. I am going to ask you to sit down though while holding her you will have a smaller chance of dropping her if you sit." Sakara shot Issan a look but understood and sits down in the chair. Issan walks over to the guards and Marv with the doctor and the other guard and says "Go throw them all in the dungeon as those 2 guards" he points at the doctor and the guard she was talking to "I don't want or need Malloy knowing anything about My Cleo. I will decide later if I want to kill them or just keep them locked up. I want no one but Celine to take food to them. As for anything else they need I will decide that." Marv says "Who will be down there to watch them and make sure they're not getting messages out." At that moment one of the hybrids whose name is Alex walked up to them and says "I will Cleopatra must be protected." Alex walks over as other hybrids also walk up and they help Marv escort them down to the dungeon.
Drenial looks at Issan and says "What was all that they didn't even wait for orders or anything they just reacted." Issan says "I don't know but Alex has been following me around since I brought her home. Alex did spend some time in the wild with Bruno so maybe he knows or feels something the rest don't I don't know. I will find out later right now I need to figure out if any messages gotten out to Malloy and what Malloy knows. I don't need him snooping around here to see what and how I'm raising her." Issan looks at Drenial and asks "Do you think I'm being overprotective or paranoid about letting Malloy know anything?" Before Drenial could speak Sakara answers "No, not at all he sold her to you and he doesn't usually care once he sells them he washes his hands of them so for him to send a doctor here to check on her. Then have that doctor send him information I don't see any reason you shouldn't be. If anything I think she should have her life taken she lied to you while she was here and what she was doing and she could have tried to kill her or hurt her if you ever left her alone. What I have seen you haven't left her alone ever have you. I can smell that you haven't you smell Issan you need a bath and so does she." Issan says with a cheeky smile "Well the bath can wait till she wakes."
Sakara shakes her head and says "Nope you go bathe right now her bath can wait till she wakes and me and Melody will bathe with her you go now." Issan says "She has never had a bath before I don't know how she will be and I worry about it." Sakara says "She will be fine she ate with us and she was on your lap the whole time she ate I don't see why bath time will be any different go on your brother and your dad need one as well you boys can go and then when she wakes we can." Drenial nods his head and says " Come Bryan and Issan they will be fine you keep telling us that Cleopatra is different and we have seen that plus if there is a problem during bath time you will know." Issan looks at Drenial and went to speak and was quieted by a shut it look and listen Sakara gave him. They left the room to go bathe. Melody was playing by her self with a small toy she had in her pocket while Sakara just sat there holding Cleopatra as she napped. 20 minutes went by and Cleopatra started to stir. Sakara says "Melody can you get me a glass of water from the table please." Melody says nothing and does as she was asked, as she returns with the glass Cleopatra wakes up. Melody gets up in Cleopatra's face and Cleopatra growls and Sakara says "No it's just Melody and Melody what have I told you about doing that to people when they wake up?" Melody ducks her head and says "That one day it's going to get me hit and it's disrespectful. I'm sorry I just wanted to be the first person she saw when she woke up."
