With every intention of making Nolan face the same fate he had inflicted upon his mother, also the danger Nolan had unknowingly put his daughter in, he embarked on a dangerous path that threatened to destroy the remnants of his conscience.

Her questioning voice when she asked what he was going to do to Nolan eventually prevented him from going, like a flickering beacon warning him away from the dangerous path he had chosen.
