Man and Monger
I apologize for the delay. I had no power on Tuesday and I got my first shot of Sinopharm yesterday. It had me drowsy so I couldn't write....
Alex walked to the front door and waited for Pepper to come out. When he saw her he said " Need some company ? You have that look on your face that says your going to do something stupid or dangerous. On second thought knowing Tony it's probably both. "
" It seems you know him well. Hop in. " Pepper
Alex got in Pepper's car and they went to Tony's office at Stark Industries Headquarters. Alex was keeping her company because he was still looking for aberrations in the timeline.
Luckily everything went as it was supposed to, Alex stood with Pepper in Tony's office and watched the blackmail video the ten rings sent to Obadiah while copying the files Tony needed.
When Obadiah opened the door Alex knew but he waited until Stane said something. He tried to get the copied files from her by asking for the newspaper she hid it in but she already hid it elsewhere.
When Alex and Pepper walked down the stairs they saw Coulson who was there for his appointment. When he asked Pepper about it she said " I'm going to give you the meeting of your life. Your office. ".
Stand then went to Sector 16 to inquire about the progress of his Iron Monger armor where he was told the technology to power the suit didn't exist yet.
He yelled at the scientist before heading to Tony's home. Meanwhile Alex was on his way to Tony's house, he was going there to ensure that Tony made it to his armor on the off chance that Rhodey didn't make it in time.
He parked his car away from Tony's house and hid near Tony's house in some bushes. Soon Obadiah drove up to Tony's house and stole Tony's miniature Arc Reactor from his chest and left him for dead.
Alex listened to the chain of events using his enhanced hearing and waited for Rhodey arrive after Stane left. Alex heard Tony make his way to elevator and finally manage to put the Arc Reactor into his chest but he passed out soon after.
A few minutes later Rhodey arrived and Alex followed him inside. Rhodey heard someone walking behind him and drew his gun and said " What do you wan... What are you doing here kid."
He put away his gun and kept heading downstairs and Alex followed and said " I was on my way home but something didn't feel right so I came here instead. Stane isn't the type to roll over so I'm here to make sure Tony's alive. "
Alex followed Rhodey into the Garage and they saw Tony unconscious on the floor. Rhodey flipped Tony over he instantly woke up.
The first thing he did was ask " Where's Pepper? "
" She's fine. She's with five agents. They're about to arrest Obadiah. " Rhodey
" That's not going to be enough. " Tony
Meanwhile at Stark Industries Headquarters Pepper arrived with the five agents to arrest Obadiah.
They made it below the Arc Reactor and began searching for him. The agents, Coulson and Pepper saw Tony's MKI armor.
"Looks like you were right. He was building a suit." Couslon
" I thought it'd be bigger. " Pepper
They all split up to search for Obadiah but Pepper was the one who found him. After a short chase Pepper made her way outside when she finally heard from Tony.
He told her to run but it was already too late. Stane bursted out of the ground and raised his wrist mounted gun at Pepper, prepared to shoot her.
Meanwhile five minutes ago at Tony's house. Tony equipped his armor while Alex and Rhodey looked. Rhodey then said " That's the coolest thing I've ever seen. "
" Not bad right. Let's do it. " Tony
" You need me to do anything else ? " Rhodey
" Keep the skies clear. " Tony
Tony then flew out through the hole he made when he fell through the roof. Rhodey looked at the MKII armor and said " Next time, baby. "
" I can totally see you being his sidekick. " Alex
Rhodey gave Alex a death glare and Alex said " Geez , lighten up would you. "
Rhodey ignored Alex and drove to the nearby airbase. Alex walked back to his car and opened a portal to an alleyway near Stark Industries Headquarters.
He climbed to the roof of the building and took out an explosive shuriken. He was on the lookout for aberrations.
Four minutes passed and Tony arrived just in time to save Pepper. He crashed into Stane and they both ended up on the freeway.
The fight went exactly as it was supposed to, Iron Monger picked up an SUV and Tony shot him with his Unibeam and caught the SUV.
The scared mom driving the car hit the gas and when Tony set the car down she drove over him. Iron Monger then used a motorcycle to hit Tony into a bus which was then bombarded by a missile.
Tony was blasted upward and caught his balance using his thrusters. Iron Monger then started flying. Tony saw this and knew that his suit didn't have enough firepower to defeat Stane.
So he kept flying up and waited for Stane's suit to freeze up due to the icing factor. Stane soon fell to the ground and Tony barely made his way down to the rooftop above his large Arc Reactor.
Stane then re-emerge and went after Tony, Tony managed to rip out Stane's targeting system and bought himself some time while Pepper overloaded the Arc Reactor below.
Everything was going as it was supposed to but the most dangerous time was at hand. Alex was ready to open a portal and save Tony at any moment.
But there was no need everything went fine. Tony fried Obadiah and he walked away relatively fine. All was well but Alex set at ease something felt wrong.
But since there was no immediate threat he just made his way to Stane's Iron Monger suit and had A.N.G.I scan it.
He had the complete blueprints for Tony's MkII & III as well as Stane's Iron Monger, these would prove useful in helping him create his own.
Everything went as supposed to and the press conference ended with Tony saying " I am Iron Man. "
Later that night Alex followed Tony home with the excuse that he left some stuff there. When they walked through the door J.A.R.V.I.S greeted Tony in a lethargic tone.
He sounded like he was riddled with bugs. Alex and Tony stepped foward and Alex saw Fury standing in Tony's living room in the dark.
" I am Iron Man. You think you're the only superhero in the world. Mr. Stark, you've become part of a bigger universe. You just don't know it yet. "
" Who the hell are you? " Tony
" Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. " Fury
" Ah. " Tony and Alex
" I'm here to talk to you two about the Avengers Initiative. " Fury
" Us two? How am I involved in this? " Alex
" You should take a page from your friend here's book and be more discreet. " Fury to Tony
" What the hell are you talking about, I have no reason to be discreet. I do nothing shady. " Alex
" The gig is up kid, you weren't exactly keeping too low of a profile. You're naming sense isn't great. " Fury
" Sigh, it was on purpose, I don't plan on living in secret forever. That's tiresome. " Alex
" You are unbelievably naive. I wasn't sure until just now. " Fury
" Do you know what's most precious to someone like me? Time. I'd rather spend time doing research or making something than think of ways to throw you off my trail. And you seem like the relentless type. " Alex
" Yeah but you're still naive. " Fury
" And you're still old and out of shape. " Alex
" What's he talking about kid? " Tony
" The truth is, I am Dragon. " Alex said mockingly
" You're who ? " Tony
" Do some research. " Alex
" Why? You're right here. " Tony
" Would you two focus. I need an answer. " Fury
" Keep my identity a secret and I'll join. " Alex
" You don't even know what the Avengers Initiative is. " Fury
" You seem like a trustworthy person and besides you work for the government. That's like a seal of authenticity. " Alex
" I just called you naive and here you are again. " Fury
Alex wasn't that naive, he knew S.H.I.E.L.D. was compromised but they still had a purpose to serve. Alex was heavily involved with Tony's story yet nothing changed.
He had to be involved with future events and this was an easy and direct way in. Alex then ignored Fury and walked into the basement to retrieve his stuff.
Fury wasn't too bothered by Alex's behavior, he's known several quirky people over the years. Tony listened to Fury for a bit more before Fury made his exit.
Alex gathered his stuff and he also made his exit, he had work to do. He scanned Tony's MkII miniature Arc Reactor as well as the full sized version at Stark Industries Headquarters so he could make his own.
Alex drove home and opened a portal to his base, he immediately got to work on his reactor blueprints. He had a few months before the events of Iron Man 2 occurred.
He designed a medium sized reactor, smaller than the the full sized version but significantly larger than Tony's MkII Reactor. This would be his power source, it would have enough power to finally power his Vibranium experiments.
It took 2 days to be completed and it would take weeks for Alex to siphon enough energy from the power grid without being noticed and kickstart the reactor.
Alex was wondering why he didn't get a quest to help Tony defeat the Iron Monger but he then realized Tony didn't need help. He was capable of defeating him with only Pepper's help.
It took three weeks, but Alex finally kickstarted the reactor. With a new power source Alex got to work on the Dragonscale MkII. It was a mechanized version of his armor, Alex didn't need the strength enhancement but he needed the flight capabilities.
But he also needed flexibility and dexterity, his armor had to be a lot more intricate than Tony's. Alex worked on shrinking all of the used mechanical parts.
It took another two weeks before he succeeded in doing so for all necessary aspects. He assimilated the pieces and made the prototype for the Dragonscale MKII armor.
Alex focused more on flight and flexibility so he was able to shed more bulk than Tony. His armor was smaller but it still had more defense than Tony's.
It was a step in the right direction but the armor still affected Alex's dexterity slightly. Alex fine tuned it some more a day managed to turn it into an insignificant hindrance.
It was finally time for a test flight, unlike Tony, Alex waited for A.N.G.I.'s go ahead before he did his test flight. Alex opened a portal to an abandoned airfield in Malibu.
He flew from there to Tony's house and landed in his garage.
Tony was working on some minor upgrades for his suit. He was currently dismantling the remnants of the Ten Rings.
When Alex suddenly flew in from his garage entrance. Tony wasn't surprised Alex made a suit for himself. In fact he was counting on it, he looked at Alex's work and was surprised.
It was a lot less bulky than his, it looked like it was built for flexibility over defense but it's defense wasn't a weak point.
He was still observing from afar when Alex physically opened parts of his suit so he could exit. He started from his wrist then shoulders, followed by his chest and then he worked his way down.
The only downside to this was that to equip and unequip his armor this way took time. When Alex stepped out of his armor Tony approached it and inspected it.
Alex had thrusters installed at the base of the feet, at the calves, chest, back, shoulders, and palms. The feet, chest, back and palm thrusters were for speed but the others and the chest thrusters were for maneuverability and hovering.
Tony then inspected the armor plates and noticed they looked like custom carbon fiber but they were stronger than normal.
The armor Alex made was in a sense equal to his own but there weren't much options for firepower, only the repulsor beams from the palm thrusters.
" Nice work kid, I'm impressed. What'd you use for the armor plates? " Tony
" Carbon Nanotubes, I'll send you my research. " Alex
" What about the firepower ? " Tony
" I prefer my fights up close and personal. " Alex
" Right right, I read that you use a sword. That's a bit archaic, but to each their own. " Tony
" You're just in time, I'm about to head out to deal with some business. I could use a sidekick. " Tony
Alex just laughed and picked up a nearby wrench and bent it with his bare hands and said.
" Keep calling me your sidekick. "
" Geez, no need to get touchy. " Tony
" Good, I need to test out some stuff in combat anyway. Suit up, let's go. "

I've noticed an error in my time line. The events of Iron Man 2 occurred 6 months after the first movie but it is in the year 2010.
Do you think I should change my time line or change the original time line?
