The drive to Metropolis took us about thirty minutes and in the car ride, we discussed what else to do in between the two main things on our plate. What was decided was that we would go to the arcade before the play started and after the play, we would go eat at the new restaurant, next we would attend the Superman festival that happened to be held just today. Kara didn't want to attend at first, but with a little push from me and Alex, Kara finally agreed to go. In the arcade, Kara watched as Alex and I had a competition against each other in every game we could find. It got so intense that Kara decided to join in, but when she lost her first battle she trashed the arcade game. We quickly left the place laughing and headed to the theatre house for the play. Alex and I were still laughing about Kara's rage moment, while Kara was pouting because of what she did and how we were reacting to it. I already had bought the tickets beforehand so we didn't have to wait in line. We choose seats that were in the middle so that it would be easy to go to the bathroom if they needed to. Throughout the whole play, Kara and Alex had stars in their eyes plus they sang along with every song, while I lost interest in it a while back.
I fell asleep during the play so I didn't realize it already ended until the sisters woke me up. I felt someone poking at my cheek,
"Wakey, wakey Mr. sleepyhead," Kara said in a soft voice.
"You know, Johnathan looks very cute while he is sleeping," Alex said. I sensed Kara's face very close to mine when I opened my eyes scaring her. Kara turned around quickly but I noticed that she had some red around her cheeks. Alex was laughing at our interactions and began to walk towards the exit. It took a while to get to the restaurant and when we did get there the line was pretty long.
"So do you girls still want to eat here?" I asked and Kara nodded very enthusiastically.
"I don't mind waiting," Alex replied. So wait we did.
"Alex, how is studying going along?" I asked her.
"It is going well, except for Calculus but it shouldn't be that big of a problem," she replied. I turned towards Kara motioning her the same question.
"I'm doing my best, but this world's education is very different than ours," Kara replied but then was suddenly depressed. Kara tried to keep calm but Alex and I caught her sudden change. I decided to talk about the play, which seemed to work getting Kara back into happy mode. After more than an hour, we finally made it into the restaurant and ordered a good bit of food since I haven't eaten anything since breakfast. The food was very delicious and we didn't need to talk due to being overwhelmed with the fragrance of the foods. The time has finally come for the festival and the streets were full of people, balloons, parade trailers, and food stands. The crowds were very lively and there were reporters everywhere filming the parade. I noticed that there was a brunette lady with a nice hourglass figure and a beautiful face. She was reporting on how that this was a day that everyone was not going to forget and there was a special surprise that will shock everyone. Everyone made their way into the large building where they were holding a special service.
Not too long when she said that I could hear the sound barrier break. I turned to look and saw a blue figure flying towards the festival.
"It looks like someone is planning to visit," I said turning towards the sisters. It took a couple of minutes for them to respond to me.
"Can't believe Superman is showing up." a random citizen shouted out. Kara didn't know how to act due to not knowing that her cousin was showing up. Also, her foster parents never told her that I knew her secret. Just then Superman landed outside and quickly made his way into the building. When he got on the stage, he didn't forget to wave towards the crowd.
"I'm glad that you could make it here Superman." the person on the stage said.
"I'm happy that I was invited to come here. It is always nice to take a day off and accompany everyone." Superman replied. The next moment everyone could hear loud screaming coming from the outside.
"Aliens are not welcome here!" the group shouted in sync. Kara was getting upset due to the unwelcome shouts. I grabbed onto her hand and gripping it to reassure her. She looked at me in confusion with a blush, but I could sense her relax so I just smiled at her. A police squad came into the area to try and contain the group.
"Fellas please don't be too hard on them. Everyone has their own opinion and they are just expressing them." Superman said to the police squad. Then there was an explosion from one of the trailers injuring many people. Chaos began to envelop everyone and more explosions began to go off.
(Third person POV)
"Everyone please calm down and form an orderly fashion. Superman is doing his best to secure the area." A police officer shouted as Superman flew around using his ice breath to freeze the fire around the area. Then a group of people with exoskeleton suits showed up.
"No more aliens allowed in our city. These damages are because of you if you weren't here none of this would happen!" Shouted the leader. Superman then flew into the group and began to battle it out with them. As he fought with them, three figures could be seen leading people out of the building.
"Careful, don't push it will be alright." a young Asian man with short, spiky black hair said as he directed people out.
"Don't panic everyone has to help each other." a young, white, brunette girl said to people.
"Please come this way. Everyone keeps calm." another young blond girl shouted. Most of the people were now out of the building except for the five terrorists, Superman, and the three young people. The five terrorists noticed that they were losing the battle and began to look for ways to get the upper hand. They noticed three people still helping out the last of the hostages that they had.
"Quickly go grab those kids!" The leader shouted to Henchman #1 and Henchman #2. The leader then motioned for Henchman #3 and #4 to help him fend off Superman. Superman noticed that two people left, so he scanned the area to find three people still in the building.
"Oh no. I can't let Kara and Alex get dragged into this." He said and tried to fly off to protect them, but was stopped by the three terrorists.
"I'm sorry, but we can't let you go just yet. You can have those three people's death on your hand." The leader said with a sadistic smile. Superman was now getting angry and began to fight to his fullest not caring that these people were just human. Henchman #1 and #2 were now trying to detain the three kids but were having trouble because the young boy was fighting them on even ground. They weren't the only ones surprised due to his actions, the two girls were looking at him in awe.
"I didn't know that Johnathan was an expert in Martial arts." The brunette girl said.
"Well Alex, you haven't been around us that much anymore so I don't blame you. He's been practicing very hard and sometimes he wouldn't hang out with me because of it." The blond hair girl said and was about to jump in to help. Alex held back the young girl,
"You can't jump in there Kara!" Alex said to her.
"I can't sit here and do nothing Alex. Johnathan is fighting people with exoskeleton suits on. They have superhuman strength and right now Johnathan is only holding them off because he is being unpredictable. If I don't help him out now then he will be killed." Kara shouted.
"But if you go out now then you will never have a normal life. I don't think that Dad would want that. Superman is about to finish off those three people and he will be over here in no time to take out these two." Alex retorted. Kara knew that her sister was right and could only sit there. What they didn't know was that the people behind the terrorist sent back up. As Superman was about to finish off the three people, he was attacked by an unknown figure and sent crashing into the stands.
"What in the hell was that?" Superman question himself and began to look around. He finally spotted two figures running at speeds too fast to the human eye.
"What are those things?" He thought to himself as they came back to attack once more.
"They finally sent some backup." the leader said while breathing hard.
"They sure took their sweet ass time." Henchman #3 said while trying to catch his breath.
"But what are they anyway. They never showed us who they were." Henchman #4 said while helping up #3.
"No need to worry about it. As long as they help us take care of Superman, then I don't care." the leader said and looked over to see two of his henchmen having trouble with a young Asian boy.
"Can't those two get anything right? It's just one boy why are they having such a hard time." The leader angrily said and motioned for #3 and #4 to follow him. Superman was getting frustrated with the two unknown figures that keep stopping him from leaving to help his cousin. So he used his heat vision to cut through a pillar to make it fall in front of one figure. Then he used ice breath to make the floor slippery which worked sending both figures tumbling away. Wasting no time he flew at breathtaking speed towards his cousin and her foster sister. The building couldn't hold on anymore when Superman destroyed another pillar and began to fall apart. A part of the build came crashing down towards the two girls which no one noticed at all except for one person. Johnathan sensed danger and turned his head just in time to see a big part of the roof falling towards Alex and Kara. He ducked underneath an attack thrown by Henchman #2 and jumped up using his feet to push off the back of Henchman #1. He blasted towards the girls and pushed them out of the door. The two girls tumbled out of the door and the debris fell cutting off the exit sending a smokescreen covering anything within five feet.
"Johnathan!" Alex and Kara shouted. Superman felt even more anger but mostly at himself because he couldn't even save people and had to rely on a citizen. He rushed at the terrorist and didn't hold back his power. Superman ripped off the exoskeletons on them quickly and threw them out of the building not caring where they landed. Superman then quickly went to the debris and lifted it to try and save the young boy. As he lifted it and tossed it to the side there was no one to be seen.
"Where did he go?" Superman question.
"Don't worry about the boy." a deep voice said behind him. Superman turned around a saw a crimson red figure with silver lining on his arms and legs. The figure also had a sea blue visor with a giant red beetle horn in the middle.
"Did you save him?" Superman question the man.
"Yes, but you should be more worried about those two unknown figures that we're handing you an ass-whooping." the man said.
"I was preoccupied at the moment. Besides who are you?." Superman said.
"You can call me Kabuto. By the way, these are the figures that were giving you trouble." Kabuto said as he threw out two people. It was a man and woman that were dressed in regular clothing. When Superman took a better look he noticed that they were the ones that set up this festival.
"What are you talking about, Kabuto. These two are the ones who set up this festival and are just regular citizens. We need to get them out of here. Joe hurry up and help Samantha to get out of here." Superman replied.
"Thank you, Superman," Joe said while trying to grab Samantha, but was stopped by a hand.
"I don't think so. You may be able to trick boy scout over here, but I already know who you are." Kabuto said with killing intent. Joe and Samantha looked at Superman with pleading eyes.
"What do you mean, Kabuto?" Superman asked while trying to get closer because he could feel killing intent coming out of Kabuto.
"If we let them go now then more people will lose their lives," Kabuto replied.
"What are you even talking about. They are just normal people how could they take more lives than these people that attacked this venue. Let them go." Superman retorted.
"I knew that you wouldn't believe me, but you will soon find out yourself," Kabuto said with a sigh while pulling out an energy dagger.
"Don't force me Kabuto. Aren't you a hero since you saved that boy? Why are you now killing innocent people!" Superman shouted but it fell to deaf ears. Superman began to blast off to stop Kabuto,
"Clock up" Kabuto silently said. Before Superman could do anything the two people were stabbed in the heart and Kabuto was nowhere to be seen.
"How could someone be so ruthless. I swear the next time we meet Kabuto you will not be able to get away." Superman swore to himself and began to clean up the building. What he didn't notice was the clear vapors coming out of the two bodies.
