She nodded sadly and leaned into him, taking strength from him. As if sensing her need, or maybe he needed the comfort as well, he kept his arm around her while they followed the others inside. They went through the house room by room in awe at what they saw. The amount of destruction that had been wrought on the place spoke of anger and hatred. It was only too obvious that the person or people who had done this held a personal grudge against the world.

When they entered the once grand meeting hall, Neivayka’s knees almost dropped out from underneath her as she took in the level of destruction that they had left the place in.

The table, the beautiful Elder's table, that had held the moving carvings depicting everyone’s ancestral line, was gone. The hippogriffs and the dragons, the wolf, and the phoenix, all completely gone. They hadn’t been satisfied with gouging it or shattering it; no, they had cut off the legs of the tables then burned it.
