Katya dropped off her meticulously-drawn-up dongle plans on Cheryl's desk, but the Lady Elgin office was unoccupied. Cheryl preferred hard copies, so Katya carefully placed the report in the old-fashioned incoming mail shelf. This was one of those metal desktop units with the upper one marked INCOMING and the lower marked OUTGOING. It was a remnant of the old days when Cheryl worked as a detective.
Katya walked down the hall to Cyrus's office, where Cathy was waiting to go home with him. "Hi, Cathy, so how was your first day on the job?" Katya asked.
"I'm still trying to get the feel of it," Cathy answered. "But I think I'm going to like it here. I feel like I am where I'm supposed to be."
"I was thinking of going to Beef Villa for dinner," Katya said. "Would you guys like to join me before heading back to the city?"
"I'm up for it," said Cyrus. "How about you, Sis?"
"Sure, but we drove in with mom and dad," she replied.
